I support Jack

May 31, 2014, 7:47 AM

As long as he is our coach, because I support Clemson. And I will support our next coach, whenever a change is made, for the same reason.

I don't get to make the coaching decisions, so all I can do is support or not support our team (and it's coach). I choose to support them.

I support Clemson

I'm sure there were some hard core nazis who supported A. Hitler just because he was still in charge when the Russians were tightening the ring around Berlin.

Leggett's effectiveness is at an end. The sooner an effective coach and staff are found to replace him and his, the better. It's over.

Well said!

Can't disagree there

May 31, 2014, 9:17 AM [ in reply to I support Clemson ]

Although not sure I would compare Leggett to Hitler. People supported Hitler because they didn't want to be lined up and shot, not because they so loved the third Reich.

It wasn't a perfect analogy...

May 31, 2014, 9:34 AM

but the point is still valid. Time for Jack & staff to go.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes, I would make a call to the bullpen

May 31, 2014, 9:40 AM

If the decision were mine to make. But until DRAD gives him the hook, JACK IS THE MAN!

Go Tigers! We have a game today! Jack, be great today!

It was about as far from a perfect analogy as it could be. Using Leggett and Hitler in an analogy is just wrong.

Jesus people, he's not calling Jack a Hitler or vis versa

May 31, 2014, 1:33 PM

He's simply alluding to blinding pulling for whoever is in charge, simply b/c they are in charge...

that would be fine if the supporters of the program were blindly following someone. Has it occured to you that maybe people that are supporting the program because its the right thing to do, and because the negative cheap shots and ridiculous level of critisism being soewed , only hurts the program?

It hurts the program even if there is a change made.

From what I am seeing against Xavier right now.....CHANGE IS NEEDED!!!!

"The right thing to do," says who?

May 31, 2014, 3:48 PM [ in reply to Re: Jesus people, he's not calling Jack a Hitler or vis versa ]

You? Other Jack supporters on here? That's an opinion, don't try and pass that off as fact. Are you saying those that want a change made (whatever that means) are intentionally trying to hurt the program? That's a bold statement...and quite silly. Not everyone is taking cheap shots at Jack. Some thank him for what he has done, but think it is time to move on or make some changes to the staff. Changes made to a program doesn't always mean it will destroy it. That just sounds like fear of change more than anything else.

If you ask me, I think next season will be the time to decide whether major changes are needed, but fans mounting concerns are legitimate. Attempting to silence those that voice their concerns sounds more like someone indifferent to the program more than anything...

No, I am saying nothingbis gained for the betterment of the program by "airing your dirty laundry in this type of forum" . There is a difference between supporting change and tearing down the man.

Well your original response was to me, and I don't recall

May 31, 2014, 6:37 PM

"tearing" him down. Jack has done a lot of great things at Clemson and SHOULD be remembered as one of the greats. I just think it might be time for new leadership. Jack may still be capable of taking us to the CWS in the future, but who is to say the man isn't burnt out and maybe the passion for the game just isn't what it use to be? It happens. A fresh face with something to prove can do wonders for a program...just look at Dabo.

Now by saying that, I'm in now way slandering his name. I don't know why some of you fly off the rail and get so butthurt over the idea of moving in a new direction. It's going to happen eventually regardless.

L hope you aren't comparing Leggett to Hitler and some of us to Nazis and just taking poetic license and making an outlandish comparison to make a point.

Re: I support Clemson

Yeah I don't think this was a very good analogy either. Leggett doesn't force anyone to follow him or support him. Hitler killed millions of ppl, committed genocide, but you're comparing the two. Pretty dumb

You are really comparing fans that support the team and it's coach , to the die hard Nazi's that remained loyal to Hitler.

I supported them as part of Clemson as long as they were here, and was glad to see new blood when the school made a change.

This is the dumbest point of view, IMO

May 31, 2014, 4:11 PM

The whole "I support the coach because he's our coach"

I love Clemson, therefore I cannot support Leggett any further. He's killing our program. The mere fact that a program like Clemson had to struggle to even get a 3 seed in the regionals is pathetic. He needs to go before any further damage is done to Clemson. The change to the new bats is what brought about Jack's demise. When it was gorilla ball he never had to really manage. Just let the guys bash away out there. Now that he actually has to manage and in-game decisions actually matter, he's outmatched badly out there. Time to say "Thanks for the memories, but good bye."
