I don't think that is true. But for conversation sake, let's say it is true. One reason is his faith. Flat out. The media has a full blown agenda against Christians. In their eyes, we are the sole root of all the evil that exists in the entire world. 2nd. Dabo did it at a small school, in a small state, in a weak conference. Dabo's success is a direct threat to every similar school's President, Athletic Director, Board of Trustees,and fanbase. For years, they stayed in power by telling those to whom they were and are accoutable, that Small School USA was DOING THEY BEST THEY COULD and THE BEST THAT COULD BE EXPECTED of them. I myself believed that was true of Clemson. I believed we had captured lightning in a bottle in 1981 and that there was just TOO much against us to do it again. DABO, with his confidence and uniqueness BLEW A HOLE WIDE OPEN in that mindset.

And now, they all have to up their games, or get put on their merry ways to unemployment. Just my 2 cents as a mere Real Estate Agent....

I think there are a few reasons . . .

and I agree, it's not true that everyone hates him, but there are a vocal contingent and a large minority or maybe even a majority.

1. Yeah, the Christian thing;

2. Ohio State is a big school w/ lots of alum; They were, are, and always will be butthurt, even though they have current bragging rights over us, they felt "had" by little ole Clemson one too many times;
3. SEC crybabies that hate that Clemson ever became a power;

4. Media types who prefer the blue-bloods (you know, the real ones). Clemson is blue-blood in the sense of "New Money" - but the media and analysts love the "Old Money" blue bloods - the programs that could go 6-6 for a dozen years straight and still be blue bloods - Michigan, USC, ND, etc.

5. Some people just don't like sincere folks - especially the home-spun, salt of the earth Southern and optimist types. They see it as phony. Sometimes it CAN be phony, but it can also be the true article. But some folks see it as categorically phony.

6. Here's the only one that's on Dabo. I love Dabo, but here and there he can say some weird or hard to justify things in defense of his own program that are maybe a bit of a stretch. I chalk it up to his eternal optimism and don't hold it against him, but I can see why an outsider might see him as too much of a homer in that regard. Granted. But this is small potatoes, really. It gives people ammo, but there real gripes are some combo of 1-5 above.
