I really hope Christian comes back for his senior year

Dec 5, 2017, 10:22 PM

i know its highly doubtful that he does, especially if we go win another national championship but man i just watched a video on his leadership and playmaking abilities.....his name should be up there with Deshaun Watson, CJ, Fuller, etc. We've asked him to do so many things since he's been here (DT, DE, TE, special teams, catch a pass on a fake punt, lineman with dex, leader) and he has excelled at everything asked of him to do. I know a recent poster made a similar post, which i commented on but many people dont realize the impact he has made for this team. If he for some reason decides to stay for his senior year, the #42 jersey should be retired.

1st round draft pick. Going to miss him

Dec 5, 2017, 10:24 PM

but he should go. Can’t turn that down. He will be really difficult to replace.

No doubt! But I do love seeing him celebrating on seemingly every touchdown.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah there's a very small chance be returns

Dec 5, 2017, 10:32 PM [ in reply to He gone.*** ]

the only scenario i see him returning is if we lose to bama or whoever in the NC and he wants to get another title before he leaves. Or he just loves Clemson so much he wants to stay. But its hard to turn down millions. Im just being selfish and want him back another year.

I'll be totally shocked if he stays. Will find out next year if teammates have learned from his example. Phenomenal player, leader, and representative for Clemson.

He'll have his degree in December. The young man needs to go make himself some money. It would be great to have him but it's not worth the risk. He will have a nice career in the NFL but it wouldn't surprise me if he ends up like a Micheal Strahan.

I believe that's actually what his long term goal is, after the NFL of course.

I didnt watch the game until I got home from CLT but if you heard the way Herb was drooling over this young mans abilities, that alone told me there are way too many eyes on him. I hope he goes to Texas.

Texans or panthers

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It’s his decision and he didn’t ask for my advice but he’s given us

Dec 5, 2017, 10:49 PM

All we could ask for and more. He would be best served by going pro and making money while he is still young and healthy. I can’t selfishly ask for him to come back but if he did I wouldn’t complain. He has been a tremendous leader and player on our team.

Makes absolutely no sense for him to come back, but, he

has always been a different cat. If anyone could turn down the millions just for the love of one more year of college life / football, it might be him.

He is in the top five of my favorites of all time. My guess is e will be a great ambassador for Clemson when he does leave.

We should never retire a number, only a jersey. Too big of an advantage lost as young players want to play using the same number of certain players who came before them. DW4 and Feaster are two examples.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, because then they have to ask and get permission

Dec 6, 2017, 8:19 AM

Retiring a number is a good thing. Because then when a guy like DW4 or Feaster comes along, they have to ask a legend if they can wear their number. And then they have to carry themselves in a manner that would honor that player. What could possibly be better than a future 5* DT that thinks he is hot stuff getting to go talk to CFB and NFL Hall of Famer Christian Wilkins who will show him what a true legend looks like?

Dec 6, 2017, 12:26 PM

He's gone, he's gone
Oh, why
Oh, why
I better learn how to face it
He's gone, he's gone
Oh, why
Oh, why
I'd pay the devil to replace him
He's gone, and he's gone
Oh why, what went wrong?
