I realize many in the Clemson family are still skeptical of DRad, and maybe for good reasons...

He is spending a lot of $$$ with the "Build it and they will come" attitude. I will say this though, it's my impression of the guy that he is extremely focused on what he was hired to do for Clemson. He is not interested in how people feel about him emotionally but is a "results" oriented guy. He will "cut nuts" and not miss one bit of sleep to do what he feels needs to be done. A total business minded person.

I'm not sure Clemson folks care too much for this style or approach but if his "swing for the fences" like methods work, fans will be Lionizing him when we win a couple of championships.

How long has he been on the job? What exactly has he done

Feb 15, 2015, 6:18 PM

so far?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

he just hit the "2 year mark" in January. I agree that the jury is still out.

Feb 15, 2015, 6:35 PM

He WAS hired to utilize his Finance background and orchestrate the massive facilities upgrades that are taking place right now.

I believe that, as long as Football continues on its trajectory and BB improves, he will be allowed to continue with his vision in encumbered. I guess we will see...

Well what we got is a waste of money "renovation" to maintain the status quo in basketball; a redundant football building; and a baseball upgrade that only puts us "on par" with other programs

He cut what was supposed to happen at baseball stadium. Some in the know, people at baseball games very unhappy.

Left Ga Tech in a lot of debt

Hasn't been here long enough to make any judgements...

about him

I don't think he wanted the Oculus, but noted it was a "fan favorite"

Feb 15, 2015, 6:23 PM

So he does give some consideration to what people think.

With the cost of money so historically low, he was hired to

spend money and take on additional debt, is my understanding.

The hope is that he never has to make a head coaching hire in our football or basketball programs.

His approach

Feb 15, 2015, 6:30 PM

Worked real well at Georgia Tech...

Plus he fired great people here at Clemson in favor of his cronies. DRad doesn't care about Clemson, he cares about DRad and will saddle us with more debt than we can handle

Scar certainly has shown that pouring in $$$ for new facilities doesnt necessarily mean "build it and they will come" lol

He saddled GT with a ton of debt, hired a bad basketball coach, extended Danny Hall (if you think Leggett underachieves, look at him) and lied to the NCAA. There are plenty of reasons to be very skeptical of him.
