Clemson adds Peach State opponent to future football schedule

Clemson rounded out its 2026 future football schedule with an announcement Monday. The Tigers are set to open that campaign with a trip to Tiger Stadium to face LSU and host South Carolina to close the campaign for Power 5 opponents. Good for us, Glad to give the school with the most national titles in the state of Georgia a shot

Did you know that Georgia Southern, not State has as many titles (6) as Tech (4) and Jawja (2) combined.

In fact, they have six titles since 1981 while the other schools only have 0.5?

You know it Doc! Erk Russell was the patriarch of UGA Junkyard Dawg Defense then started the Georgia Southern football program. He was one he11uva man and a coach.

This is a large school with resources. I thought they were going to make the turn a couple years back. They could be bigger than GT if they get their game going.

Yep, it would be nice to have a home team with a blood pressure, and a heart beat. This is just adding another practice team to a long list of them!!!! Well, at least the 3d and 4th team guys will get a lot of playing time after the 1st quarter. Wood just doesn't sharpen iron!!!

of adding Georgia Southern. A “easy” win but still somewhat good competition! They’re not a cupcake and it’s a good program with some good tradition. A really good game to build depth and experience.

I don't get UConn being on the schedule either especially at the point in season it's being played. Seems so random. I had rather see them schedule southern opponents like GSU in the mid major slot including schools in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana like Troy, UAB, Southern Miss and Tulane.
