I never undertood why it was such a big deal to get Paul. He

Feb 2, 2022, 1:14 PM

was a three star that we'd never heard of before early signing day.Granted, he must have been pretty darn good if Georgia signed him. But having aid that, we have three really good running backs that are sophs. We will not mis having Paul next season and by the following season, we will likely sign a more highly ranked running back, while our current three will still be juniors. I know we wanted Paul, but I never really understood the excitement of getting him.

Let's hope he is not a Gurly.

Gurley mysteriously put on 30 lbs of muscle and got faster the summer coming out of HS, I have never seen anything like it.

He's a bigger north/south runner and not our typical type of runner. His speed was average but he will work out in UGA's system where they have a good OL.

Pace is moving into year 3. He and Shipley both missed

Feb 2, 2022, 1:21 PM

games due to injury. Shipley, with his running style, will probably miss some more.

Pace missed games due to Covid

Just watch his film and you'll see why.
5 star IMO

Dude looked pretty good to me

I do not think he got tackled once in his tape, he just does not go down, and sheds people like rain-x.

Well said OP, especially in this new portal era where a “commitment” can be nothing more than a short term stepping stone to another school inside of a year. Missing out on an RB, a position we have relatively good depth right now, doesn’t seem like that much of a miss at all.

Paul was a late bloomer and will be a good back. We need to get more depth and it would have been nice to have him. We have three studs right now but we need some depth and I don't think we have anyone big lined up as of now for 2023.

If he had signed with Tigers, he would probably go into

Feb 2, 2022, 1:32 PM

the portal, when he found he could not break into the first 3 teams after his freshman year.

DEPTH.

I assume you’re a Clemson fan but this coming year you should watch or attend all the games. Even against teams we’ll kill like UConn.

I’m pretty sure every time Coach Swinney spoke this year he mentioned injuries about every 2 minutes.

It was a big deal probably because we are just piecing a class together so we're grasping at anything. We're piecing it all together. A couple extra things to go our way would be a relief for some.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Because GA wanted him

Feb 2, 2022, 1:58 PM

If it were between us and Oregon and he picked the ducks no one would care. Some would even say we didn’t really want him anyway. Everyone wanted a victory in something over Georgia because they are worried with their recent success. Georgia will impact our recruiting pretty heavily for the next few years. Hopefully they do like they normally do and gloriously under deliver on expectations and implode and our recruiting will come back up. With Miami’s new hires, Mack Brown, and Uga’s recent success things will be tight on the recruiting front for a while until we see how some of these teams pan out. We will find out if Dabo and crew can truly develop talent or if the success the last few years has mainly been from recruiting at such a high level while other teams in the area have been down.
