I love how other Top teams lose to a Top 25

Oct 21, 2014, 11:42 AM

Team and only fall 2-5 spots back in the rankings. We lose to a Top 25 team and seemingly drop out of the Top 25.

I was wondering the same thing. How is Oregon, UCLA, Baylor, LSU, and USC still in the polls I don't know but they can't say it's not because ESPN or anyone else for that matter is not bias. I still don't know how LSU is back in the polls and Louisville isn't man I'll even take Duke but LSU no not for wins over Florida and Kentucky who should be the two bottom teams in the country.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

idiot on ESPN said he's got ND in his top 4 because they almost beat FSU.**

bearer atop the white stallion.

They get their arses handed to 'em in Chestnut Hill, give up like 350+ on the ground playing like so much wet noodles on the D-line, and carry their entrails back to Hollywood in buckets.

Yet there they are ranked just ahead of a Tigers D that beatch-stomped the Eaglets runners like so much Lilliputians in Fairy Land.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yep, makes no sense

You think they should be ranked based on the result of

one game?

What about the other six games each team has played? How do USC and Clemson compare in those games?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Seen this type of post a lot recently...

Oct 21, 2014, 11:51 AM

We were 1-2 at the time of the FSU loss, and UGA lost to the coots. It was not unreasonable at all that we fell out of the polls at that point.

Just my 2 cents.

Been that way for awhile

for most of the last 3 seasons, including a lot of time in the top-10.

We drop 7-8 spots back? When ND or an SEC would drop 3-4 for a similar loss

You mean like losing 51-14?***

That, or the previous close loss in Tally

Oct 21, 2014, 12:05 PM

And close losses to Usuck

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Ok, just so we are clear,

Oct 21, 2014, 12:06 PM

you are saying that after 51-14 we should have only dropped a spot or two?

no, the close losses to FSU and Usuck

Ok, we'll have to agree to disagree.

prior to this year...........our losses were by 10+ points

Oct 21, 2014, 12:16 PM [ in reply to That, or the previous close loss in Tally ]

and the 10 point losses were few and far between

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I wouldnt consider losing by 14-17 a blowout either

Oct 21, 2014, 12:27 PM

.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

no but they were "comfortable losses"......

Oct 21, 2014, 12:34 PM

it's not like we lost like the FSU game this year many times

the UGA was "closer than the score" but the way we finished that game left questions in the pollsters minds........then at 1-2 it's tough to keep a team (regardless of who they played) in the top 25.

i think .....A. we are about right.....and B. it will work itself out, if we are "the team" we all hope we are we will win out and be ranked around 10ish when the season is over, and hopefully FSU wins out or loses 2 to give us a chance at more credibility for a marquee win.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Because we have not lost to any unranked teams!

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes, but should've gotten more credit for UofL/BC wins

Oct 21, 2014, 12:10 PM [ in reply to Seen this type of post a lot recently... ]

Those are both pretty good teams. It's just too bad UofL couldn't finish their game at UVa and BC didn't have their offense figured out at Pitt.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Perhaps I am in the minority here, but

Oct 21, 2014, 12:18 PM

I think we are right where we deserve to be at this point in the season. I might agree with you if we'd beaten Louisville and Boston College by an average of 30 points. They were good wins against solid teams, but I don't think they should have vaulted us into or close to the top-15.

"Because at the end of the game, everyone knew that they weren’t that much better than us or better than us at all."

yeah louisville lost a lot of credibility losing to UVA.....

Oct 21, 2014, 12:20 PM [ in reply to Yes, but should've gotten more credit for UofL/BC wins ]

BC lost a lot losing to Colorado state.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

BC is not a good team, and Louisville is not much better.

Oct 21, 2014, 1:06 PM [ in reply to Yes, but should've gotten more credit for UofL/BC wins ]

BC lost to Colorado State and Pitt- good teams do not lose to Colorado State and Pitt. And Louisville is pretty mediocre.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: BC is not a good team, and Louisville is not much better.

Oct 21, 2014, 2:25 PM

Louisville is a long way from mediocre.

That D of theirs is flat-out nasty. Their O is not firing on all cylinders yet but it's not terrible. That Louisville team may not lose again the rest of the year - and that's even with FSU paying them a visit.

Careful, FSU. Famous Jameis or no Famous Jameis, I'm not convinced FSU walks out of Papa John's with a W.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It was our second loss.

Oct 21, 2014, 11:55 AM

Poll voters look for reasons to drop teams early in the season. It's the simple and reasonable way to cull through the pack.

Oct 21, 2014, 12:44 PM

Pretty simple, all those teams have big wins, we have none. In my opinion it takes a better team to lose to the number one team in overtime than it does to beat a 20ish ranked team, but i'm not the ap poll so theres that...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This is one of the dumbest posts I have ever seen.

Oct 21, 2014, 12:50 PM

First, it was our second loss. We were 1-2, and had yet to beat a division 1 team.

Second, before that game we were sitting at 22 and 24 in the polls. So we only had to drop 2-5 spots to drop out of the top 25, which is- get this -the same number of spots that other teams drop!! Go figure?!?!

There is not some national conspiracy against Clemson. Please think before posting next time, and please do not reproduce.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: This is one of the dumbest posts I have ever seen.

Oct 21, 2014, 12:55 PM

That, and Georgia losing to a terrible cack team didn't help us out.
Dropping us from the rankings was entirely logical.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nice job of leaving out the UGA loss and the past few years

Oct 21, 2014, 1:12 PM [ in reply to This is one of the dumbest posts I have ever seen. ]

Never did I say this was just about the FSU loss. With your comprehension skills, im worried about you reproducing (hopes this clown can comprehend to wrap it up)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

UGA loss=first loss, FSU loss=second loss, thus a 1-2 record

Oct 21, 2014, 1:18 PM

How did I forget about the UGA loss? Seems I accounted for it in my complicated formula to determine our record.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

you still fail to account for our drop after the game

Oct 21, 2014, 1:56 PM

Sure the score wasnt pretty but that score in no way reflected how close the game really was
