convicted 22 times over in the Court of Public Opinion. Guilty or innocent, his civil cases should not be plastered all over the news by Yellow Journalists. Especially since two separate Grand Juries found no evidence of any behavior that constituted crimes.
Whatever DID happen, these accusers going on TV and airing this in public would have to be considered "Prejudicial Behavior" when it comes to possible jurors or judges.

Did you read Deshaun's deposition where he admitted to making one of them cry and texted an apology? That's not a normal response from a licensed massage therapist at the end of a session.
Let's be real, the only reason you think Deshaun is innocent is because he went to Clemson. If he was a Georgia or SCar alum you'd be ready to throw him under the jail.

Girl here. Did DW4 want the girls to give him a happy ending? Yes. Did he commit a crime? According to TWO grand juries No. Is the NFL skating on thin ice if they punish DW4? Yes. Almost every single player on an NFL team uses their money to get girls. Watson just has a unique way of meeting his girls. I am not saying that I approve of what DW4 did but, he has broken no laws. Women have to learn to handle themselves when alone with a man. I don't disagree that this is a money grab. What it sounds like you are describing is being hit on by men. What was going on with DW, and everyone over the age of 12 realizes this, is he hired the womeone for what he hoped was a sexual favor. There is nothing "unique" about that. It's a pretty old business, in fact. I'm sure the womeone did handle themselves. Some probably did the favor, many probably didn't. Curious, do you think it's acceptable for DW (or any guy) to solict any (every) women for a sexual favor? Would it be okay if he asked for the very same "favor" from a waitress or cashier?
DW clearly has a proclivity for hookers. Some here will go to great lengths to push back on that all because the guy played at Clemson.

If DW4 broke the law, I would say lock him up. I don’t care which college team he played for. As far as hitting on cashiers and waitresses, I did both jobs to pay my college tuition. Yes, I got hit on there too. The NFL has players hitting on women every single day. No one is going around keeping count on those activities. If any of the 22 women felt a line was crossed, they should have contacted the police immediately. None did that.

as much as he has been hit, he probably needs to see someone regularly. He's also getting advice from other players... Go see "x", she will take care of you. A masseuse doesn't make very much unless (s)he has a large clientele.
Basically, there are lots of variables. Most people don't live in DW4s shoes and don't realize all the implications. That said, I hope he has learned a valuable lesson

Ask any NFL PLAYER… they do pay them to follow them and be on staff if they are good and have one masseuse, none have used that many, you could probably talk to 500 current and former players and they would say the exact same. Over 50 have been asked about this and all of them only have one… our guy is a guy and flawed, don’t defend him just support him to be awesome on the field.

The lawyer for the 22 young ladies saw the results of the two grand juries. At this point he is trying to negotiate with DW's attorney so he can cover his fees and costs.
You don't think the young ladies posted deposits for his sercvices I hope. DW has spent a year of his life fighting whatever you call this and he is going to the mat. And he can well afford to.
How many cities has DW been in with his team over the past few years? He played in at least 8 regular season away games, plus pre-season games per year, and playoff games during his NFL career. Some of these visits were for multiple days. This doesn't take into account half the year at home. What was it, 22 young ladies over this period?
When TV reality, Judge Judy types are called opon you know the lawyer for the young ladies is looking to get paid. In this case HBO will pay the freight to gather some cheap ratings. HBO could care less about the young ladies or DW, bless their heart.
Keep in mind the lawyers always get paid first.

It should be obvious that Deshaun sought out various massage therapists with the intention of having sex with them. This wasn’t about getting a therapeutic massage. If it were, he would’ve used the same massage therapist like normal people do and not looked for dozens of them on Instagram on his own.
These were women he cornered while they were working - and vulnerable. It was a repeated pattern. He can call it consensual all he wants, and maybe on some occasions it was. Maybe some of these women are just trying to cash in because he’s famous. But it doesn’t change the fact that the preponderance of accounts suggest that he behaved as a sexual predator on some level, using his celebrity to take advantage of them and coerce them into doing something they didn’t want to do.
I think Deshaun is a good guy overall, but he messed up and got caught. Let’s not allow our homerism to keep us from seeing what most likely happened here.

question the coercion aspect. Did he cajole? Beg? Plead ? Manipulate ? Yeah, i bet so. But i just cant imagine him using genuine intimidating coercion. That is the part where i see some of these women hear what one or two are saying, and then transform their memories of what happened with them. I can see room and motive for fabrication and embellishment.

And I will use your theory to say "legitimate" masssage therapists do not advertise their services on CL, Instagram, etc.
We've all seen those ads. Wonder how many of these accusers are licensed?

I believe this: a) Deshaun is the greatest clutch Tiger QB ever. b) At the least, he has some serious judgement and major psychological issues, although he denies that he needs counseling. c) He received some really bad advice (from his agent, lawyer or possibly failed to listen to either) because he should've settled immediately, whatever the cost, 15-18 months ago.
No professional athlete uses that many massage therapists, ever! Regardless of the sport, elite professional athletes want someone who knows and understand their bodies and their typical trouble spots, so they can head off any potential injuries. If you drive a Porsche or a Ferrari, you don't scour the city looking for Jiffy Lube guys for mechanics. Whatever DW says, he was definitely looking for some 'play for pay' action from each of these women. The question is, did they expect this, or more importantly, agree to his wishes or demands? Most massage therapists (male or female) want their clients fully covered with a sheet or beach towel, exposing only each area being attended to at the moment. Since several of the ladies balked at only a hand or face towel covering his privates, and requested that he 'cover himself', I tend to think Deshaun knew exactly what he was doing.
Do I believe that Watson is an unbelievable talent on the field? A resounding yes! Do I think he actually has some issues? Again yes!
Also I distinctly remember Dabo always gushing about Deshaun's high character while he was at Clemson. I didn't think much of this then, but I never heard Coach Swinney offer the same effusive praise in behalf of Tajh Boyd or Trevor Lawrence, or at least not to the extent that he praised Watson in terms of character. Can't help but wonder, did he have some "issues" while in school?

Perhaps it would be easier to understand if you saw one of these "massage" parlors. Typically, some hole in the wall facility in a bad strip shopping center with the word MASSAGE usually missing a letter. They don't exactly look like where one would find legitimate massages going on. And they're all over Houston open 24 hours.
2 grand juries came back with no indictments, and they were charged with determining if the things you mentioned actually happened. I doubt DW4 was any more of a predator than any other clients the "therapists" entertained. And since most of the "therapists" are not from this country nor speak English very well, it's entirely possible some had no clue who he even was.
Since there were no indictments, this is now down to a "he said, she said" deal in the civil cases. There are no laws about what people say and the criminal investigations validated no laws were broken, the civil cases have no legs at all.
You say he "got caught". "Got caught" what? He didn't do anything illegal. What he got was swept up in a huge amount of exploitation promising big monetary wins to all involved. Since it appears that's not going to happen, here comes HBO (I'm sure at the insistence of the plaintiff's lawyers) to try to bring in a little money for them. It's sad the lawyers are going to put these women through even more stress than they've already encountered. And good for DW4 for staying away....
