lots on here that AT BEST, DJ was going to only sporadically be good / maybe serviceable.
So why not “take our lumps with young & inexperienced” early / on our terms rather than deal with what we knew wasn’t going to be around / not helping us build on the future - forced on someone else’s terms.
Hindsight - “take our lumps” 3 games earlier and let DJ declare for the portal in October.
At least I THINK that might be some of the discontent. I know it is with me.

the season after he'd played in 4 games. So when were you benching him for good? ND? After he'd won 14 straight as the starter? You realize only DW and TL had ever done that. Have you read the team's responses to his transfer?
It was never as simple as mere performance.

in 4 or 5 series ….. clearly that was gonna be a “have-not” night for DJU.
Give CK a shot prior to starting at the 8 with the domers ears pinned back.
What makes you think DJ wouldn’t bolt after not starting the game after the domer game ??
And if he didn’t - great. Possibly serviceable backup if CK got hurt or rattled badly.

Season is over now. Barring an injury to Cade in the OB he's never playing again here if he stayed now. I think he wanted to make the playoffs like everyone else, dont you? That wasn't off the table until the last fumble against USuC

We also have Helms if he decides to stay. He’s no slouch and a pretty good QB. I believe he worked at the Manning football camp this past summer.

KB was already festering the locker room; his presence alone would have been a detriment with the potential to become a locker room cancer. DJ is in an uncomfortable situation, a long way from home, and I have little confidence in him even as a backup QB.
