Interstates should be clear. I'm more worried about a traffic jam in Atlanta

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

why would you take 26 all the way to 95?

Jan 5, 2017, 5:59 PM

cut over in columbia on i20 .. work your way down thorugh macon

much better than going through Jacksonville, Daytona, ortlanda.. etc etc etc

Geville Tiger on Clemson football , "Dabo's only problem is he has to deal with turd fans questioning every move he makes.”

The Cola to macon adds 2 hours longer than the route i suggest, I-26 to I-95

From where? From Greenville it's faster to go 95 anyways.

I live in Tampa and make this drive often...

Jan 5, 2017, 8:49 PM

It takes almost the same amount of time to go through Jacksonville up 95 to 26 as it does to go 75 through ATL. DO NOT take 95 to Daytona then through Orlando.

Take 95 to 295 to I-10 W. then take hwy 301 south to Ocala then 75 S the rest of the way

Waldo?

Jan 5, 2017, 9:10 PM

Is it still a speedtrap?

There's another small speedtrap town too, correct?

301 off of 10W to slant down to I75 further south is no faster than driving 80mph on 10W to I75S. Your best average speed on 301 is no more than 40-45mph and that's catching the lights in your favor not to mention a more frustrating drive especially on a Friday afternoon.

Not true

Jan 5, 2017, 10:49 PM

While you slow down to 35 in little towns like stark and Waldo, it's 65 mph in between the towns

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Do we need to slow down in Waldo???

Exactly! I've driven it many times, but it only takes me 20 min more than going through Atlanta. And that's based on not being caught up in Atlanta traffic. 301 is 4 lanes most of the way, but watch out for the two speed traps . Drive not even one mph over the speed limit. There used to be full size billboards warning drivers about the speed traps. I've not made that trip in 7/8 years.

I am not sure that is how I wold go, but avoid the ATL at all costs.
