I like our new commissioner. He seems to know what

Jul 23, 2021, 1:40 AM

he needs to at least try to do.

I like that he wants to do away with divisions. This means if we can get Notre Dame, we just split the money 15 ways. That's a big IF. I like that he is at least honest enough to say that he wants Notre Dame as full member and, if not, we may still need to be ready to add. I think he will be proactive.

Great AD at Northwestern. Calm and thoughtful. Not met him but understand he is very smart. Knows the business, successful at tough school and enjoys student-athletes and coaches. Think he and his wife raised large family. Good days ahead for ACC.

He does seem very impressive. I like what I have seen so far.

I heard him say he wanted to look at all opportunities and options, Including eliminating divisions, but I did not hear him say he definitely wanted to do that.

Has he publicly commented that he wants to get rid of the visions as a definite or just something he’s exploring and investigating?

Not gonna lie, I wouldn't mind getting rid of divisions

or at least our stupid, stupid, STUPID annual game against Georgia Tech. I kinda liked the schedule from 2020, but I know it's not like to happen because of the lack of OOC games. I just wish we could play more than one non-GT Coastal team a year.

I like the divisions and only 8 conference games. Can't think of anything more boring and routine than playing more ACC games.

So you think spending $400 bucks or more for a family of four to see Clemson destroy SC State or other throwaway game instead of playing Miami or Pitt or UVA is a good idea?

Would be much better to play 9 conference games with no divisions (round robin) so we play home and away every team within a four year period. How long has Pitt been in the league and this is our first trip to their place? If you are not gonna play the teams in your conference why even be in a conference?

So you would prefer the future big out of conference games scheduled against the likes of Georgia, LSU and Oklahoma canceled for a ninth or tenth ACC game? I believe that is exactly what will happen. Don't see the guaranteed seventh home game without a return like SCState and Furman is going away in that case.

What I would like to see him do is create more geographical North/South divisions. Could not care any less about playing Syracuse or BC every year or Pitt for that matter. Border wars with the schools closest too you are much more fun.

Getting rid of divisions would improve the regular season greatly IMO, with no need to expand past 8 conference games. Having 3 annual rivals (Ga Tech, NC State, FSU - each program would have their own) would allow for the other 5 games to rotate all over the league. Would gladly swap out playing BC, Syracuse, Wake, and Louisville every single season for a Miami, UNC, any Va team, and Pitt in their place on a rotating basis. 14 teams at 8 games is perfect set up to play every league team twice every four years both home and away.
