It's like the spurrier deal. You gotta keep those several years on the contract for recruiting purposes. If they let it get down to a year or two and aren't talking about extending it then people get suspicious and won't commit there. Whether or not he plans on staying there that long it doesn't matter.

If Saban wanted to stay they would have kicked him to the curb and brought on Swinney. Saban got an extension because love or hate him he is the greatest college football coach ever. Would Swinney consider leaving for Bama? Who really knows? I hope Saban stays at Bama forever though. The more success Swinney has at Clemson and the longer he's here the less chance Bama will ever be able to get him from us when the day comes that Saban steps down.

It takes bama players longer to graduate. Dabo on needs three year extention beacuse after three years ours graduate and turn pro. lol
