injuries, but dang. Maybe we should put the whole team on ACL rehab type leg weight lifting BEFORE we tear the ACLs? Build us some legs that look like Travis Etienne's tree trunks!

These things seem to come in cycles. This is one instance where I hope we ARE cycling out soon!

Sadly, serious injuries happen to every team, every year. The National Champion often winds up being the team that is lucky enough to escape serious injuries better than the others.

What can you do? Years ago I was doing squats with a competitive body builder who had massive quads and hamstrings. He tore an ACL squatting.

...the heavier weights and stronger muscles are what cause the tears. Much more torque now on stops and starts and turns. The problem is you can't work out the ACL. This is across the board, all levels, women too. Much more ACL injuries over the last 30 years.

More flexibly and band work needed. Old school strength philosophy has its place though.
