I know exactly what Tenn opened Feaster's eyes to: COA

Cost of attendence. You can bet that this will be used as one of their main recruiting tools from now on. I bet they told Feaster in an over simplified conversation on the subject that they can legally offer him $8-$10K more than Clemson over his college career via cost of attendance. Most kids won't know and won't care what all goes into that figure (for example one reason Tenn's is probably higher is because they pay one of the highest sales tax in the nation (9-10%).
You better believe this will give them a competitive advantage though. From now on, they'll get all the kids who are 50/50 between their school and another.

Anyone who would choose Knoxville...

over Clemson just ain't my kind of people. That being said, TF is good people. He's a God fearing kid from God fearing parents who know a God fearing HC and other God fearing young men when they meet them. For those who don't understand what God fearing really means please substitute respect for fear in the previous and following statements.
Knoxville is about as God fearing as Cootlumbia.

Youre data is inaccurate

Tennessee has a state sales tax rate of 7%. Yet they have no state income tax. Their localities have additional sales taxes that add on to the sales tax to raise it to a total of between 9-10%. Just like SC does. In Richland county the sales tax rate is 8% total. 6% state tax and 1% local option sales tax, and 1% transportation sales tax. And if you eat out, there is an additional 2% hospitality tax, making the total sales tax rate 10%. Yet, SC also has a 7% state income tax.
If you look at data, with a 6% state sales tax and a 7% state income tax, SC has some of the highest combined state taxes in the entire nation.

Tenn has submitted a COA of about 5600

to the Department of Education. Clemson's is about 3900. That difference over the course of 5 years is about 9000.
Tenn has the highest cost of attendance out of any ACC or SEC school. I think the second highest is Auburn.

I never said the state sales tax was 9-10%. I said the sales tax at Tenn (which was referring to the University and not the state) was 9-10%. In Knoxville, to buy goods, you pay 9-10% sales tax. That factors in local gov't add on taxes. That overall figure is one of the highest in the nation. Cost of attendance takes into consideration of what it cost to buy goods. That's why U. of Texas and U. of Florida aren't as high on the COA lists.

The bottom line is these young kids will only pay attention the money because that is all that matters to them. How many of us when we were college students ever thought about taxes, it was all about the money we had not how much taxes cost. Coa should be one fee for all schools because it will play a part in recruiting for the next several years.

The school doesn't need to figure out COA the NCAA needs to hire someone or a firm to do it.
