The narrative is necessary to justify putting Alabama in the number one spot ahead of us. I am already expecting Bama to get the Atlanta playoff spot and am making my reservations accordingly. I really want to play two SEC teams in the playoff. Will record Finebaum the Tuesday after we go 15-0 again and repeat as champions.

The 2017 CFP was the Sports Media's favorite. Two SEC teams in and meet in the final. Since LSU and UGA do not play each other during the regular season this year; they hope to get 2 of the 3 (Bama, LSU, and UGA) in the CFP. I think the PAC 12 is out so they need Clemson to stumble to get the ACC out. They want 2 SEC teams with OK and 0-31 State.

They are comparing us to Clemson 2018 at the end of the year and what we will probably look like at the end of this year. Otherwise they would have to throw out terms they want to avoid when we play to our potential.

It's difficult to judge how the Clemson starters look since they use so many players.

In their limited time they have looked off some. The players say the same, so it's not like the pundits are being harsh. We are a work in progress. I am calling that we are going to make a big statement today though.

It's because of almost unreal expectations of our offense in the preseason. Overall we probably are as good as people thought because the defense hasnt fallen off, however we just aren't doing it in the way expected. Clearly people still think we're good or else we wouldn't be #1 every week.

Amazing how even long time," I know football better than Clemson coaches" posters in this thread and the whole of TNet look even more foolish come championship time. Year in and year out it's the same. Dabo fools not only the opposition, but apparently some of the fanbase too!
