I just got a call from principal at son of RB's high school

Story goes like this: Teacher of son of RB instructs entire classroom this morning "for all of the idiots in the room to please stand up." Apparently several of them forgot to turn in an assignment this morning.
Son of RB was the only one to stand up and teacher asks him "you have an A in my class why do you think you're an idiot?"
Son of RB replied "I'm not an idiot, I just didn't want you to feel lonely."
He has to serve two hours of detention this week as punishment. Made my day.

Agree 1000%. Son of RB despises this teacher, as does the entire class. She's a gamecock, btw. and constantly degrades Clemson.

Agree. Nor should kids call the teacher that. Not acceptable on either side of that.

The teacher is verbally abusive towards under-performing students and there have been multiple parent complaints about her conduct. When you put it into perspective, I'm OK with my son giving it right back to her. She had it coming.

Making a statement like that about Teachers in General is like saying all police officers are corrupt and all Tigernet posters are idiots ( well in this case a good many seem to be). It does sound like this teacher has some issues and maybe needs to do something else.
That being said, my wife is a high school teacher and I can assure you she is all about her students and trying to help them succeed, even when they don't seem to care. She commonly goes in an hour before classes start and stays at school until 5 ish every day except Fridays. She then spends almost all Sunday afternoons, after Church, until dinner and then most times after dinner, grading papers, doing lesson plans and a lot if time contacting parents to let them know their students what their students need to be doing to improve. In general, teachers are not among he best paid profession in the nation but I dare say most of them work just as hard as my wife for a limited salary and little appreciation for what they have to put up with, so don't judge the whole group by the bad apples. There are bad apples in all occupations but most teachers do the work they do because they love doing it and seeing the student prosper and grow.

Just for the record, son of RB's teachers have all been (with a few exceptions) very dedicated professionals. Not coincidentally, the two worst ones were USuCk grads....go figure.
