HA HA HA

Apr 7, 2022, 1:34 PM

Got my teeth checked today and they still work. Dr Bruce (Pendleton, SC) said he would see me at the Spring Game.

Went to the DMV to renew my license. My understanding is folks my age have to do that every 3 years.
Mine were extended for 8 years, so I am good till I am 84. My eyes checked OK, so don't need glasses until I am 84. Yall may need to duck if you meet me on the roads.

Good to hear Tug

I used to be terrified of the dentist and didn’t go for some years. I finally did and really happy I did.

It was to the point I was dreaming about my teeth falling out, ??

i go back to the day when dentists used no novocain(generic term)and no high speed drills for doing restorative work(fillings) and going was like stepping into a medieval torture chamber.my uncle was our family's dentist, and it was a universal sentiment among all the relatives that uncle harry was into sadism(recall the scene in marathon man where dustin hoffman was being tortured by having his teeth drilled without any anesthesia.it was no worse than going to my uncle's office).as a young child i always gave him a wide berth, because you never knew when he might grab you and do something awful.it was suspected that he always kept a pair of forceps(pliers)with him.fast forward a goodly number of years, and guess where i wound up after my time at CU.that's right-dental school.as time went on,it turned out that i was the 3rd of 5 dentists in our family.however, none of us were inspired by
good old uncle harry.knowing what's going on has certainly taken any fear out of having dental work done.

Dr Hoo

Apr 7, 2022, 2:42 PM

Dr Hoo

As a Mill Hill kid, dentist were not a thing unless you needed a tooth pulled.
Mom made me brush.
I lost a molar in each quad by 16. My wisdom teeth migrated forward, so it looks like they were the ones pulled.
My teeth at 76 are very good as I am serious as to brushing and check ups due to early years with a dentist like your uncle.

Congrats, I had all my teeth yanked out when I was 25

Apr 7, 2022, 2:05 PM

and permanent dental implants put in. it is great, I never have to brush, can smoke and drink all the coffee I want, and they always stay perfectly white. Occasionally I will get the Dremel tool out to keep them sharp, but other than that, the are maintenance is free.

When I am your age, cars will be driverless, and probably too expensive for the poor to afford.

Apr 7, 2022, 2:06 PM

I just didn’t get implants.
