Heard UKY might be after Morris (no Joker)

Oct 3, 2012, 3:56 PM

Friend in ATL airport heard this from a KY fan. Anyone heard anything of it? Certainly don't want to lose him to them. Don't really think he would leave at this point in time (after the season).

No truth, he's locked in for a bit.... don't you recall the

contract extension? Doubt UKY wants to pay that buyout.

No buyout if he leaves for a HC job.....

Maybe the funniest game day sign I've ever seen.

I realize they are in the most incredible amazing conference ever known to man, but that would be a horrible first HC job.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why would he leave a team loaded with talent...

Oct 3, 2012, 4:12 PM

Who will constantly be at the top of the conference, for a team with no talent who will constantly be at the bottom?

I think they should go get Tommy Bowden....

Oct 3, 2012, 4:17 PM

He will run a clean program, recruit pretty well under the circumstances, and he knows how to be the Coots.

they could do worse. they've had lots of coaches through the years. some were pretty good. no one ever makes a go of that job for long though

Morris came to Clenson to prove his O and he wont leave untill its time .

I dont think any sec team would hire a coach with no head coaching experience , and 2 years of college coaching.

Now these long term coordinators with many years of proven service , like Kirby Smart , Bud Foster etc are a different story.

Quit worrying about it , its just fans wanting change.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He will be a head coach after this year or the next

Oct 3, 2012, 4:21 PM

But it won't be Kentucky I don't think.

Terrible place to go. Tough schedule, no instate football talent so have to recruit Ga, Ohio for leftovers, good fanbase but football always second to basketball.

Just don't see UK being a place you can go and win big.

My concern would be that TCU may make a run at Morris if

Patterson goes to Arkansas. Yes I know the whole deal about Chad not wanting to move his family and kids while in high school, but a chance to go back to Texas for a team now in the Big 12 might be enticing.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I heard KY was going after Petrino.

Oct 3, 2012, 4:27 PM

I think Chad will stick around until he can go to a school that actually has a chance to win. I would be worried if Arkansas or TN called, but I tend to think they will go in a different direction.

I've heard that too, I know what the guy did at Arky wasn't morally right at all. Kentucky would need a coach like him to be able to compete in the SEC week in week out though. Like you guys said, they have no home grown talent there, its all about basketball, and Petrino will have to "start" over somewhere why not Kentucky?
