No. He got cheated. Even progressives like Brett and Eric Weinstein admit that it was not a level playing field and that the media and the Democrats politicized Covid and I guess you didn’t read the article from Time magazine where she described exactly how the media and big tech and Hollywood and social media and other forces all got together to make sure Trump did not win. And I guess you’re forgetting that more than a dozen states especially key swing states run by democrats illegally changed their voting laws. So as usual people on the left are living in their little delusional world. Look at where we are today versus where we were right before Covid under Trump. And actually it wasn’t Trump and Republicans that crashed the economy and screwed everything up. That was states that are run by democrats. You know those people that follow the science! Science that we know was BS and politicization of Covid to get rid of Trump! You people are delusional! Out of touch with reality!

If you think what we had was a fair election you probably think Derek Chauvin got a fair trial.

May 14, 2021, 11:38 PM [ in reply to Re: I hear there is a shortage of integrity and good sense ]

Yes. He lost. But it was not a fair election. Like I said, even plenty of progressives that don’t have trump derangeysyndrome have admitted that! You do realize millions of liberals voted for Trump because they’re scared to death of this woke far left ######## coming from the Democrats.

If Covid doesn’t happen and the Democrats use that to politicize Trump, which is total BS, Trump easily wins reelection. And you are delusional if you think otherwise.

But that’s OK, stupid people like you are going to be licking your wounds in the midterm elections, because the Republicans will stomp the dog #### out of the Democrats in the House and the Senate! People realize how much they ###### up voting for Biden. It’s only been four months and Biden is already an unmitigated disaster! And that’s even with them keeping him in the basement!

Gas prices are impacted largely by supply and demand. The national average dropped by nearly $1 around this same time last year due to COVID. Of course the prices were always going to go up from last year.

I never understood why people think a president has such a huge impact on the price of gas. The price of gas while Trump was in office was overall lower than when Obama was in office, but the price of gas rose by around .40 cents per gallon during the first year under Trump compared to the last year of Obama. Was Trump to blame for the rise in gas at that time, or did it go up due to circumstances out of his control?

Re: I hear there is a shortage of integrity and good sense

That’s true to a point, but government policy has a huge play in fuel prices. Go look at the average price of gas during the Obama administration versus the average cost of gas under the Trump administration. Oil prices were significantly lower while Trump was in office than while Obama was in office. O Bama said he wanted five dollar a gallon gasoline to force people to go to green energy. The irony is green energy is not green. It’s just carbon neutral. But it’s actually not better for the environment. Go read some of the books or watch a podcast on YouTube with Robert Brice or Michael Shellenberger. Both are lifelong Democrats, lifelong liberals, lifelong environmentalist, that promote natural gas a nuclear power, because wind and solar is a joke. It’s far more expensive, it’s incredibly unreliable, it’s not scalable, and it’s not green. It’s just carbon neutral.

You’re in Charleston gas has been under two dollars for several years. Long before Covid gas was well under two dollars in the low country. And this is the most expensive place in the state to buy gas. The Midstate and the upstate always have cheaper gas because of pipelines. Charlston gets most of its gas through tankers. But that’s why places like Costco and Walmart have extremely cheap gas compared to everyone else in the area because they have their own trucks that go to Augusta and buy the gas straight from the gas companies out the pipeline.

There’s very little profit in gasoline. Oil companies are not making much money per gallon. It’s like Walmart. It’s all based on volume. When you get under two dollars a gallon that’s crazy cheap gas. If you look at the cost to get a barrel of oil out the ground to transport it to refine it and then ship it to the retailer plus nearly $.50 in taxes per gallon gas was incredibly cheap during the Trump administration. Well before Covid!

If you think it’s a coincidence that suddenly gas shot up by almost a dollar after Biden took office you need to take an economics class or learn a little something about how oil and gas work.

The best thing that could ever be done for gasoline in America is for the EPA to approve at least one or two new refineries. We haven’t built any new refineries in decades yet the population has skyrocketed. The gas refineries in America are under intense pressure. We need some new refineries.

Another thing people on the left ignore about oil, is the fact that 30 to 40% of every barrel of oil doesn’t even go towards energy or gasoline. There are literally thousands of products we use every day that are chemically founded on a oil. Most make ups and lipsticks are based on petroleum products. Almost every plastic. Fertilizer. The list goes on and on. Modern society couldn’t exist without oil production. Even if we didn’t use any of it for energy or gasoline.

Gas has been under $2 in Charleston for years? I don't have Charleston specifically, but the average cost of gas in SC has been higher than $2 per gallon for every recent year except for 2016 including last year when it was $2.16. I get that's the average for the whole state, but it's hard to believe the gas for Charleston would be over .16 cents cheaper on average than the rest of the state. Now, that's not to say there haven't been times when the prices have dropped below that point, but as an average you are incorrect.

I live on James Island. Even on Folly Road gas prices for the last few years were well under two dollars a gallon. I have gotten gas at Costco in Charleston the past couple of years for like $1.64 a gallon.

FYI gas in Charleston and along the coast is the most expensive in South Carolina. The Charleston area does not get their gas from the pipeline. It comes from tanker ships that come in to the harbor. Once you start getting 70 to 80 miles inland that gas comes out of the pipeline. Gas has always been pretty much my entire life significantly cheaper in the upstate than the Lowcountry. But what happens is once you start getting this cheap it’s pretty much the same everywhere. You can only go so low. It’s like interest rates. Even when interest rates at the federal reserve are 0% which is why we have had for years, Wall Street investment firms have to make some type of return on their money as do the lenders that make the retail loans. So at some point gas and interest rates can only goes so low. But you would be incorrect. Gas was under two dollars in Charleston pretty much all of 2019 and 2020. Even on Folly Road which is one of the most expensive places in town.

California and New York have not opened back up. Michigan has not opened back up. But, I just came back from Kroger where the spice shelves were suspiciously low on stock. Some things were actually empty. It's Wednesday and it doesn't look like it's been restocked in over a week. People, I am not making this up!

BTW, the tanker was there refilling the gas tanks...or at least filling them partially. I topped off because that's what I normally do. I also bought extra black pepper because better safe than sorry.

Smart move bc, I think that black pepper has been on a it list for sometime now. Something about it wasn't digestible, and the same could be said about Corn, but its considered to be a vegetable, right!!! ;)
