I have no crystal ball, I have no skills at reading

Dec 20, 2015, 9:22 AM

tea leaves but with every fiber of my being I believe we are a team, a special team that is destined to win it all. While I tend to get mad and type an angry tirade about the "haters" at ESPN, the "media" anyone that just doesn't like us, none of that matters. You see, the absence of "love" isn't hate, it's not even dislike, it's called indifference. I realized I don't want just anybody to "get" Clemson, it is an acquired taste.

We, the Clemson Family, are proud of everything about Clemson and take great pride in sharing with others what Clemson means to us, if that's even possible. I have a terrible flaw, when it comes to Clemson, I expect everyone to love us and quite honestly, that's childish and silly. Those of us that love our school, remember those names, faces, experiences and joy that we had at Clemson. Sitting here this morning, I am remembering all of my best buddies in Johnstone, drinking and having the best times of our lives but not fully understanding at the time, that those were the best days of my life. I thank God for every second I was lucky enough to have ever spent in my favorite place, Clemson.

I know, another old guy rambling on and on about past glories. Well, I am remembering past glories but eagerly anticipating our soon to be achieved future glory. We don't need or want anyone outside of our own orange-blooded family to be there at that moment when we win it all, celebrating and having the time of our lives. I know I will but I will also be ever mindful that these are the "new" best days of our lives! Don't worry about the naysayers, they just don't know us....just enjoy every single second! God Bless the Tigers and God Bless us all!! Merry Christmas!

Well said. Clemson Family Forever!

I'm with you. My gut says 15-0.

I'm 48 and been a Tiger all my life. As Dabo says, we could get beat, but it won't be because we haven't prepared well and it won't be for lack of effort or desire. I just do not see us losing.

I'm 63 and have been a proud Clemson fan since I was 10 years old. As a fan for 53 years, I can honestly say that in the good times and the bad times, I have never believed we would lose a game going into it. I feel about Clemson like I feel about myself, nobody can beat Clemson just by saying they can, they have to prove to me they can do it before I will believe it. Talking about it is the easy part, doing it will be the hardest part!!!

Celebrating Clemson and all that means is something I should do. I admit, I've been in a dark place as of late but reading your words about your best buddies in Johnstone....man, my buddies from D2 were special. Those guys, wherever they are, meant the world to me and I cherish those memories! Thanks for your words, they spoke directly to me. Go Tigers! Just beat everybody!!! To all my D2 brothers, much love and thanks for all the memories!

You should be proud to be Clemson tigers especially alum. I screwed around in high school and couldn't sniff getting in. My gdad turned me on to being a tiger at around 5 I'm 39 now. Now looking back I realize how bad I messed things up. I wasn't able to truly experience what being a tiger was all about by being a student. So I'm the homer that when people see my license plate they say oh did you go there, umm no. So although I'm a crazy Clemson fanatic, my wife always yells at me to shut up during games or go somewhere else. So for those of you who went to our beloved university you have memeories a lot of us don't. Anyways the incoherent rambling is done. Merry Christmas.

I will always believe a love for Clemson transcends having attended there. Heck, some of the greatest, most generous fans never attended Clemson. You are and always will be a Clemson Man and no one can ever tell you any different!! Merry Christmas!

My Dad worked at Dan's during his time at Clemson from '51-'55. Loved his stories!

It's not called indifference; it's called agenda.

Dec 20, 2015, 10:21 AM

And I do have plenty of indignation on account of it. What makes me happy about it, though, is the team has at least as much indignation as I. That plays right into our hands.

I think I just had an epiphany. My comment about agenda got

Dec 20, 2015, 10:39 AM

me thinking. What is the agenda about? We all know it's about $$$. The $ECheat is supposed to be EZPN's cash cow. We're not $ECheat, so we're a threat to EZPN's $ECheat empire. Here's the epiphany: why is it we're a threat? Swofturd is supposedly negotiating an ACC Network. The better the ACC is, the more $$$ it will take. And maybe EZPN fears a bidding war with CBS or NBC over the ACCN rights.

As long as we're just a basketball conference, the price tag for ACC sports is fairly low--certainly not as high as football-rich (hahahahahahaha) $ECheat. So, keeping the perception of ACC football weakness is good for the future bottom line. Otherwise, CBS or NBC just may be able to outbid EZPN and put a product on the tube that could actually COMPETE head-to-head with the $EC Network.

With all due respect, if your college days are you best days

You've lived a sad life my friend. Clemson should be a launching point not a landing pad.

Re: With all due respect, if your college days are you best days

Not complaining or whining on a sports forum about life's hardships but as sad as you think it is to refer to your youth as the best time of your life, in my case it's true. To be young, active, vibrant, social and relevant again! That's an unattainable dream at 54 but not at 18-23, anything is possible or so I believed and in that case, ignorance was indeed bliss! When you have fought and scratched to get ahead in life but never quite get there, it tends to wear a soul down. So, yes, my time at Clemson was the best years of my life and if that sounds sad and pathetic then, so be it. Life is what it is and for this day, I am reminiscing about when life was simpler and fun! Go Tigers!
