Deshaun made big mistake

Going to Cleveland. Should have checked it out first it’s nastier in the winter than Green Bay. The stadium is right off Lake Erie and it’s windy and cold . For a kid who played HS in Georgia, college in SC and pro in Houston, he should have headed to a place like Charlotte for less money. Crazy to chase a few extra bucks —besides Browns are horrible , blamed it on Baker but team is a bunch of primadonnas and under achievers

Did you see anyone else stepping up to offer him a quarter of a billion dollars, all guaranteed? I would have played for Siberia for that kind of package. His big mistake was getting addicted to massages. He was very fortunate to land as well as he did after that.

Actually yes. The Panthers and Saints matched the offer…he chose Cleveland cause of the coach and talent. They’ll be just fine.

Also, the woke NFL was trending toward blackballing him. Had he not settled those lawsuits, he could have easily become the next Kapernick as far as the NFL was concerned. I'm just glad he landed as well as he did, even if it was Cleveland.

The owners just did the math and decided they didn't want to deal with the PR and the devisiveness for a backup QB. That's fine, it's their right to do so. But you can also be assured that he would've gotten a job somewhere had he been really good. If Deshaun Watson was a Kaepernick-level player there's a very high probability that he would be unemployed right now. And if Kaepernick was a Deshaun Watson-level player some owner and/or GM would've gotten up to the podium and made an awkward press release after paying him 100mil. It's all just a cost-benefit analysis for them.

The Panthers have shown they are incapable of pulling the trigger to get the right QB: failed twice to land Deshaun but throw money away on Teddy B, Darnold and Mayfield

He would have definitely got offers, probably not as much but who wants to be a loser instead of a star. Browns will never be good they had their chance. If your just playing for the money then I guess your right but as Brady showed -nothing better than winning

You need to post less. Your take is awful. How will the Browns get any better if no good players will go play for them. As for cold, I live in Greer, SC and it was -4 degrees in my backyard with wind chill Christmas morning.
Not wanting to play because it is too cold and because you don’t like your teammates sounds spoiled and childish. I can only assume you are.

But not for what Cleveland was offering. They gave up way too much to get him. He’s an amazing player, but he hasn’t played for nearly two years and Cleveland has very little flexibility to build around him moving forward.
I don’t blame Deshaun for taking the deal. He is set for life. Cleveland was stupid.

Idk dude...that's a lot of money that I don't think any of us would willingly turn down. In the end, money is the true goal for pro athletes and making as much for when the day comes to retire. It is a job after all and money like that would have you and future generations of your family set for a while if smartly spent. Sure all QB's and most players would love Superbowls and stuff to cement legacies but BIG money speaks over potential goals that may or may not happen no matter what organization you're at.

As a Texans fan, I'm glad he did. We got a great return, and with his subpar play and the Browns looking to offload more talent this offseason, those draft picks look to continue to be in the top half of the draft. He's got his money, hopefully a personal masseuse, and gets to live in the "Mistake by the Lake".

give it some time... next year he will start from the beginning of the year and the black cloud will be off his head. CLE has most of the pieces they need better coaching, hopefully that gets addressed off season.... AND GET RID OF THE ANALYTICS GUY!
