a hard time having a positive feeling about what he'll do next season. Again, I hope that he does but he just doesn't look to have what it takes to be a star QB.
I think Dabo will play him and CK both in the first few games like he did with TL and KP. Then he'll make the better player the starter for the rest of the season.

I would think that at some time during a 12 game season, a glimpse of his former self would have shown up. But, it didn't.

If you are a struggling junior you are pretty much pulled to develop the younger guys so he needs to. I could see it but I wouldn't bet on it.

I want him and the freshman to battle it out and the best player play...
I definitely believe the talent is there....DJ with the right coaching and the right playbook adjustments he can be a really good QB

Hey Hey Hey, it ok to say that we have a player that maybe isn't as good as one seen in the portal, but to berate one to be below the level of a top 10 in the portal, IMO, it's just uncalled for bc, our coaches recruit the guys that sign with Clemson hard, they didn't recruit Clemson, Clemson recruited them, and to berate one IMO, is just being nasty bc they may not be the best, or as good as we've had. Just saying!!!

And this would be another problem for Dabo. You bring in one that is clearly better than DJ and it bumps DJ to 2nd team giving Cade fewer reps with the 1s and slowing his development. At some point DJ transfers but Cade will be too far behind the transfer QB to take over as a freshman. It’s a tough choice because we need another experienced QB either way.

two games in Trevor's sophomore year. That was BC and ND (on the road). DJ played great in both, but we lost the ND game in South Bend.
Last year was a struggle for DJ, but he clearly has the weapons throwing the ball and could be great next year. Time will tell.

I want DJ to succeed, but it ain't going to be at QB. He needs to spend the summer eating and working out non-stop so his career on the OL can begin. That is his best shot at playing on Sundays. IF he wants to play QB he needs to spend the summer at Jenny Craig and hope losing weight improves his accuracy.

I would agree that DJ would be well served to focus on footwork and agility during the offseason, but his ceiling will be hard capped without the OL and WR unit taking a big step forward too.

It would be great to see DJ have a great year with Cade at his elbow learning and getting bigger. Clemson blows out a bunch of teams, giving Cade reps and game experience. Then Cade takes the reigns in 2023. That is what I want for Christmas.

He is a super nice kid, hard to tell if his struggles were due to bad line play, bad coaching, or DJ himself, hopefully this coming season he plays at an elite level.

It's not quite that simple. After all he may deliver the perfect strike but if his receiver drops the ball, it's just another incomplete pass.

I hope you are right, I think he has all the physical ability to do just that, it's the six inches between his ears that needs the work. Needs to become a student of the game, not a star. If he already is, then time will certainly tell

50/50 He's in the portal by end of next season. I've been pretty shocked at lack of accuracy and touch all season. Worse is how slow he is with his footwork and throwing motion. I will say having freshman RB's, weak OL and the weakest Rec Group we have had in 10 years didn't help him much. He did nothing in 12 games to give me hope for next year. If Cade is ahead of Watson at this stage (could be coach speak) then he will be starting by game 4 next year. One of the biggest mistakes Dabo made was not starting Watson from day 1.

This feeling that DJ is going to ball out, is this the same #5 DJ Uiagalelei that you're having these ball out feeling that will prove everybody wrong. If it is the #5 DJ Uiagalelei that you're having these feeling about, I will pray that your feelings are 1000% right of Uiagalelei proving everybody wrong bc, this past season he didn't show the team, or T-Nation nothing but confusion, and uncertainty, and he tried to cover up his insecurities with 100 MPH fast FB throws to receivers 10 to 15 yards down field, or over to the side lines behind the LOS, and over the head of receiver 20-30 yards down field.
I give you my word that I will pray that this feeling you're having about #5 DJ Uiagalelei is spot on, but, if it turns out to be just wishful feeling that you're having, we do have a Texas kid coming in named Cade Klubnik, that I honestly believe he will be the real deal and being as good as DW4, and TL16 as we could get once he has learn what I hope to be a new and improved Streeter playbook!!!
If this Texas kid can take over as the starting QB at least by game 3 or 4, Streeter can let #5 DJ Uiagalelei hold the clip board beside him on the side lines, and let the rumors begin that DJ Uiagalelei has entered the portal. But, but, if #5 DJ Uiagalelei could be as good a backup QB as he was for TL16, I hope that he would choose to stay at Clemson as Cade Klubnik's backup.
I do believe that DJ Uiagalelei is a great kid from a great family, and his character fits everything that T-Nations believes that Clemson university truly is, and that is why I will pray that DJ Uiagalelei can find that QB he was in those two games that he had to backup TL16. That QB is trapped in DJ Uiagalelei somewhere, and I pray that in this off season, he can find the QB that we saw play against BC, and ND in 2020. If he finds that DJ Uiagalelei in the off season, and He can keep that QB front and center during next season, Cade Klubnik can be his backup in training to be the next successful QB for Clemson's Elite FB program. This is what I will pray for, and hopefully my prayers will be answered with DJ Uiagalelei being another top Clemson QB going into the NFL!!!!
