shooting.
It has always seemed obvious to me that a major part of the reason Democrats want to give illegal immigrants a path to citizenship is for the votes.
Does that mean that I am a pusher of the Replacement Theory? And therefore I'm part of the problem that caused the mass shooting in Buffalo?

I guess when the POTUS and MSM push a 'fringe' ideology to make it known to the world they are giving it a voice.
I had not heard of it until I saw the headline and had to google it.

Great Democrat voter importation plan is going to bite them in the culo ultimately.
As a culture, Latinos are far more religious and socially conservative than the general population of this country. Additionally, naturalized citizens are against illegal immigration at a higher percentage than the general population.
So once they find a pathway to amnesty, and they will, they are going to have a large group of heavily Catholic, anti-abortion, anti-illegal immigration citizens who could not care less about the great LGBTQ+ kick the party is on, or in a nutshell, natural Republican voters.
I really don’t think they’ve thought this one out.

Add to it that ….some southern immigration is from FAILED socialist countries. These immigrants may tend to be strongly anti-socialist. …. immigrant work ethic is typically strong and there’s worker shortages in hospitality, transportation, manufacturing and agriculture. Republican have made significant inroads with blue collar voters _ especially non-union and in rural environments.
Contrary to conventional wisdom, changing demographics may favor conservatives if racism from the extremists is controlled.

1.) Democrats are dumb and don't know the background of these illegal immigrants they're "importing" other than who they assume they will vote for.
2.) It's unlikely the conspiracy theory about "Democrats importing voters" is true.
I can understand why you think #1 is more likely.

Sure, it's binary if you're gunning for a cheap "gotcha".

But there are more options than that.
3) Democrats are not dumb but are analyzing the wrong data or reaching the wrong conclusions. (which is where I'm leaning---appreciate you underestimating me though to presume that you think I'd automatically ascribe disagreement with me to stupidity). Keep in mind the Latino voting trends, particularly the male Latino voting trends, have only started shifting in the past few elections----the assumption that immigrants would be heavily Democrat was safer before the Party skewed heavily more socially progressive in the last 6-8 years.
4) I, and others who think this way, are completely wrong and the Democrat's strategy is working to perfection. This is clearly how most Republicans would feel, or else they might embrace amnesty a little more from a strategic perspective, if not an ideological one.
5) Republicans are secretly doing the importing but are smart enough to make the Dems think it's their idea.
6) Dem politicians don't care about votes, they're all just loving people who want everyone to have a home here, and Pubs are just racists who actually don't care about losing voter share.
Gotta say that 5 and 6 are the most unlikely, followed by your #2. Have spoken with, read about, and watched this discussed by people of all ideologies over my lifetime, and during the past 20 years, I can't say many have used the word "unlikely". Most intellectually honest people at least admit to it being a reasonable possibility. It's not like it's illegal....on the surface it's a smart strategy, so it's not something to be hidden other than for perceived popularity issues. Just surprised to see someone classify something pretty commonly accepted on both sides of the aisle as "unlikely".

I'd argue #3 is the same as #1.

And your snide remarks aside, I didn't ascribe the belief that the Dems were dumb because they'd disagree with your take. Your take is very much a commonly held belief for at least the last two presidential cycles. Just look at what happened in Florida with Cuban voters. The idea that the Hispanic/Latino vote is not a monolithic voting bloc is a very commonly held belief in political circles. My use of "dumb" was to point out that the Democrats would have to be "dumb" to not understand that.
#4) Assumes there is a strategy for votes being implemented, but then it would have to assume #1 was right.
#5) Now things are getting ridiculous.
#6) Maybe the Democrats just like poetry more:
Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
I'll add #7) Republicans understand immigration is a part of America and is crucial for America's existence but they believe it hurts their party's already dwindling voting block and so they fight it and paint it as a Democrat conspiracy to "import" voters.
Here's where I think the confusion is with your last paragraph. I'm not saying that democrats don't think they have an advantage with hispanic/latino voters and work to maintain that advantage the same as Republicans do with Evangelicals. And I do agree Dems see immigration as benefiting them and Republicans see immigration as not benefiting them and both work to either widen the number of immigrants or lessen the number of immigrants we allow in. However, I don't think the Dems are actively "importing" them (to use your language) to those ends. The immigrants are coming of their own volition.
Immigration is part of what makes America what it is, so we can't close our borders, but that also means not having completely open borders. And we don't as Biden's policies are largely the same right now in comparison to Trump's. Many dems say that's a problem because of the need for more immigrants in the economy in order to combat inflation, and for the future of the country to exist. Surely those issues have come up in your conversations regarding this issue?

c'mon man, you started with the snide...I thought I did well to ignore it and respond sincerely.
My belief goes back far more than two election cycles....easily back to the early W era. Even before that though, Reagan implemented amnesty for the cheap labor that came with it. It's just how it was and I'd be foolish to argue otherwise. Likewise, in the 80’s and 90’s when the Dems were vehemently against illegal immigration, it’s because their blue collar/unionized base was heavily against the wage deflation that immigrant, non-unionized labor brought with it. Pubs want labor, and since the 2000’s when they did an abrupt about-face, Dems have wanted the votes......it's not controversial nor widely disputed.
Only thing that really needs a response I believe is this, "However, I don't think the Dems are actively "importing" them (to use your language) to those ends. The immigrants are coming of their own volition."
It's an absolute fact that more illegals attempt to cross when Dems are in power. It's also true in recent years that the restrictions (or attempts at restrictions when not blocked by judges) are far laxer that allow "catch and release" when Dems are in power, resulting in a higher percentage of illegals staying in the country longer than they would have otherwise. Furthermore, attempts at legislative amnesty proposals for illegals already here (Both "dreamers" and others) are more common when Dems are in power.
It's my opinion that you have to be overly naive or overly trusting in the magnanimity of the Democrats to believe that the confluence of all those things is simply because they are huge fans of The New Colossus. It's a new voting bloc and a bloc they badly want. With what we think we know, they'd be fools not to. It's simply my suggestion that what they think they know may very well not end up being what actually is.

The Dems are not importing (which was my point) but are more amicable to immigrants than Republicans and certainly see them as more helpful to their party and to the country. The republicans see them as a threat to both.

If you had not heard it before, it's because you're not paying attention. It's been on Tucker over 400 times ....
"The absence of coverage of the motive was revealing, given Fox News’s most popular host, Tucker Carlson, has pushed the concept of replacement theory in more than 400 of his shows – and has arguably done more than anyone in the US to popularize the racist conspiracy"

It might be hard to believe, but many conservatives like myself don’t get marching orders from Fox or Tucker.
B) just reading the article you posted, it seems Tucker hasn’t used that actual term either. They allude to him promoting it by mentioning the Democrats wishing to change the voting demographic via mass illegal immigrant importation—-I don’t know anyone on the left or right who disputes that. For 20 plus years the general thought has been that when it comes to illegals, the left wants votes and the right wants cheap labor. That’s not some racist theory that suggests whites are somehow being diluted out of the gene pool.
It looks even more like cheap political opportunism when you consider that you’re saying Tucker Carlson talking about illegal immigrant voters led directly to a white supremacist shooting black citizens. That’s the worst logic I’ve heard in a while.
Tucker is a giant doooshe but you’re just making a cheesy political gotcha attempt out of a tragedy.

Great, you don't watch Tucker. However, it's the highest rated "news" show on cable. If you wish, you can hear Tucker say "It's called the GREAT REPLACECMENT THEORY" right hear at 1:58 ...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxUoWEGojwc
Maybe you don't get your "marching orders" from him, maybe other younger folks might. The shooters "manifesto" had exactly the same points that Tucker said almost word for word. Coincidence??? Maybe, maybe not?

JFC, you said ... "It seems like virtually no one on the right has heard of this term until this incident."
I replied with "If you wish, you can hear Tucker say "It's called the GREAT REPLACEMENT THEORY" right hear at 1:58" and then you say you watched up until 1:00(not 1:58). Do you agree that Tucker's HUGE audience is mostly (99.9%) on the right. Then I would'd argue that many on the right have heard this "theory" before.

Surrounded by a shitload of clips talking about illegals and votes? And you think that cemented in the gray matter of every person who watches his show?
Additionally, in reading about it online, it’s positioned as a theory that suggests that there’s an active attempt to dilute whites from the gene pool. So in the vast research I’ve done reading the article you posted and the some of the clips you posted for my review, if all I see are people talking about voting, how do you suggest with a straight face that it’s the same thing as a theory about genetic eradication?

That when you said "It seems like virtually no one on the right has heard of this term until this incident" that you would watch the link so you can hear Tucker say "It's called the GREAT REPLACEMENT THEORY". Then I would argue that many on the right have heard this "theory" before. Btw, I have not said there is a direct relationship, just added a "maybe" when you consider the age of the perp. If he’d gone and shot up a Latino market or Hispanic Church, I’m all in on saying “yeah, probably a little blame deserved there”.
You (and a whole bunch like you) are trying to be tastelessly opportunistic by basically saying that a talk show host is responsible for a lunatic killing a bunch of Russians because the host said the Chinese own too much real estate in the US. It’s absurd.
