I feel bad for Cole

It was very apparent that he did not want to be there when he came out for the coin toss for the over time. I feel for the guy seriously. It is not an easy pill to to swallow on national TV. Hang on kido if you are reading the posts and hopefully better days ahead and wishing you the best. You are one class act that makes us all proud at Clemson.

Felt bad for him, but like someone said on here a few weeks ago: sometimes you don't lose your job, someone takes it from you.

3 weeks of being snippy with the media for asking a LEGIT question regarding the QBs (that EVERYBODY could see).........responding with "he's our guy, it's no question, there's NO controversy, he gives us the best chance to win, etc...."............then he's a captain?
saw that problem coming a mile away.

something many of you may not have thought of.. You have a true freshman who was a whiz in HS. Highly recuited. Then you have a 5th year senior who has done everything you ask of him. And this could be at any position so forget Cole and Watson for a minute. The head coach has to promote his program in such a way that the older players don't feel like they will be thrown under the bus, plus the new players must feel they have an equal chance to play, but he really can't offer a true freshman anything other than a chance to compete. To the older player - you have paid your dues. You have the chance to start. Do the job and its yours. Simple as that. To the young guys -get in weight room learn your position. Show me in practice you know what to do. When you get in a game , don't screw up. Prove you are better than the guy in front of you and take the position. Everyone has to understand that its all performance. If you lose your position, you try harder. those that can't accept that will leave. But for the team to work everyone has to think they have an equal chance.

"potential" is like a drug to some of you guys. You'll stuff it any orifice you can find, some of which aren't yours.

all i care about is how he does at Clemson
boyd didn't do anything NFL wise.........but yet he smashed seemingly every QB record at clemson.

Frank Howard

after a bad game, starters would come in Monday morning and find themselves on 3rd or 4th team. If you pouted about it you stayed there. Howard would say "you want your starting job back? Well take it back" Needless to say Monday and Tuesday practice was violent.

Randy Anderson and Rodney Williams 1985.

I don't think Danny Ford worried about Anderson's feelings. Would y'all rather win or have a pity party for Cole? He should learn how to toss a short pass. A bullet to the ground is not the proper way. I could have made that pass to Seckinger, and I am old and fat.

Given that it was Leggett and NOT Seckinger, and thus

you cannot even tell the difference between the two players, I'm guessing you wouldn't be able to "make that pass".
False bravado never makes a good argument.

That one is not on Dabo. He gave stoudt every opportunity to go out there and win the starting job. I do feel for Cole but Watson earned it.

no question dabo gave him every opportunity.......

to a fault IMO.
he was OVERLY protective/"defensive" of every question regarding stoudt.
seemingly EVERY clemson fan saw who the better QB was from the 1st/2nd game, stoudt was bound for some type of embarrassment/humiliation whenever he got benched b/c of how much he was defended by dabo.
and yes Watson earned it........he earned it a few weeks ago.

Think about that for a second. For the rest of his life he can say "I played football at Clemson."

his dad got booed in Pittsburgh after he left the Steelers and came back w/ the Birmingham Stallions (UFSL). The Stoudt's have to have thick skin.

He needs to keep working and be ready for anything, we all know backups are always one play away from being needed....no time for pouting!!!!!
