I don't think we should make any changes in basketball.

Jan 19, 2022, 10:26 AM

I think the problem is fans who want to have a better program, and would like for Clemson to actually win an ACC Championship and have a consistent top 25 program. What we need is to not only never win an ACC Championship, but we don't even need a glimmer of hope of doing so. Instead, we need to learn to embrace the never-ending struggle. Forget winning. Forget championships. Forget achievement and excitement and enthusiasm. Instead, be thankful for those who know better. Embrace the struggle and all of the character building and life experience that comes with it. That's what this is all about. It's bigger than basketball - these are life lessons. Wake up. That's the only way to make any "since" of this insanity. When the powers that be at Clemson tell us that up is down and the moon is just the sun at night, and that Clemson basketball is in good shape, we just have to blindly trust them and their superior, god-like wisdom.

I agree. We should also aimlessly throw more money at BB and the basketball program. It only makes sense to do so.

Even more reason for Brownell to go.

I can live with the attitude of defeat, but we might as well save two and a half million dollars in the process. If we go that route, there is a local HS coach that needs a promotion.

If that is the route we're going

From the "it can't be true, but it feels true" category: Clemson has a BB program because they are forced to do so by the ACC.

CBB will have earned about $7550 tomorrow morning

Jan 19, 2022, 10:43 PM [ in reply to Re: I don't think we should make any changes in basketball. ]

and each day after that...$7550 per day.

Are you getting your money's worth?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I agree and I also like double standards.

Jan 19, 2022, 10:36 AM

This enables me to lay the unreasonable expectation to win a national championship every year on Dabo and the football team while refusing to lay any expectations at all on Brad and the basketball team. This makes it easy for me to criticize Dabo for every little thing he says and does while defending Brad Brownell at all costs

I totally agree, but with one big change. Instead of paying our coach 2 million a year we give him free room and board in any of the new dorms on campus, a new car and allowance for recruiting and give him the chance to make up the difference in NIL money.

but don't we have a lot of participation trophies?isn't that enough?yes,we have championships in 2 other major sports,so maybe expecting one in BB isn't really being fair to other schools that have none.

You could choose not to follow Clemson basketball if you don't enjoy watching the team.

The idea that Clemson is entitled to win championships in every sport is delusional.

Who actually thinks we will win Championships? All I want

Jan 19, 2022, 11:55 AM

is someone who is passionate about their job and doesn't roll over an play dead when you're up by 23. I guess it's in my character to always try to be better. Doesn't mean you win a championship, but it means you're trying to improve. Brad has done nothing different. He's comfortable. He's overpaid. Yes, whine, whine, whine, he doesn't make as much as others. Heard it a million times, but he makes around $3M to be meh. Man I could do meh for like $2.5 M.

POTD…. or then again we could just fire Coach Brownlee and go in another direction…..heck at this point what do we have to lose…..maybe Clemson basketball will be exciting to watch again and we will not blow 20 point leads…..at least multiple times every season like the guy we have now!

Clemson fans deserve a competitive BB men & women Embracing the suck , whew !!! That may as well be the slogan for those programs. Anyone remember Elden Campbell & Dale Davis ? Atleast be a contender every once in awhile.

And at home games, we could garner interest by actually paying a guy to #### on a spark plug.
