I don't think I was ever as disappointed in a recruit as I was In

Jan 7, 2022, 12:30 AM

Mike Bellamy.....that kid had the skill set to be one of the greatest backs Clemson ever had....his first cut and speed was so explosive it was a cheat code.....I remember watching his high school highlights before he got here and was in awe......then his first carry as a tiger went 75 yards for the score...I just knew we had something very special in that kid...

It's a shame he didn't have the focus academically....because that kid was going to be incredible

Willy Korn for me. Bellamy definitely gets honorable mention.

Willy Korn injured his throwing shoulder. Bellamy just didn't have the desire.

So true about Willy Korn's shoulder injury. I feel like we

Jan 7, 2022, 8:42 AM

were robbed of seeing what he could have been. I have the same feeling somewhat about his "replacement" Kyle Parker. That dastardly spear in the middle of the back by Auburn changed him forever.

Tymere Zimmerman and Rendrick Taylor

Jan 7, 2022, 1:12 AM

Tymere for obvious reasons.

I thought Rendrick was built like a superhero. Seeing pics of him it was hard to imagine how anyone could tackle him, and why he didn’t play linebacker. Just an absolute freak athlete.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Rendrick Taylor WAS a freak of nature. Either HE didn't

Jan 7, 2022, 8:44 AM

want to change positions, or the coaching staff just never figured out what to do with him. Either way, it was a colossal waste of a freak athlete.

He definitely had that Percy Harvin or Ontario McCaleb type quickness and speed. That’ slot speed guy is what we’ve really been missing lately.

Bowman disappointed me. Bellamy seemed to have the wrong attitude before he came (remember his video with money?), but Bowman seemed to have his head on straight, and then just gave up because there was more competition than he expected.

Bellamy probably hurt more than Bowman because of the timing following Spiller/Ellington. I always felt he was the “it” running back that, if successful, would have cemented us as a top tier RB-U school for future recruits.

Bellamy also seemed to spray his hands with cooking oil before he went on the field. When he got the ball it was either a TD or fumble.

Fiester was overrated out of high school to me, his vision was awful he'd run directly into defenders tackle lanes, he had wheels but he lacked the natural instincts

Overall…Milton Jennings.

For football it was Bellamy.

Michael Carr ... was supposed to be the QB Danny needed

Jan 7, 2022, 9:23 AM

to deliver another national title.

Hyped as the best option QB in the nation out of high school.

Got to Clemson and basically did nothing..
