The TNet seems to be obsessed with it now. If he were to actually SIGN a player from the Portal, Lawd, there would be pressure to go full Brownell and ONLY sign players from the Portal. I don't see any way Dabo can win. It seems TNet has Portal Brane.

happen if Dabo SIGNED exCoot running back Marshawn Lloyd from the Portal? There would be meltdowns of Galactic proportions both here and on FGF, I do beleive.

and it's what play calling is all about. Making it work for the personnel you have and creating mismatches.
All these familiar TNET faces tripping over themselves to justify a team ranked below 50th in total offense for two years is laughable.
Their credibility would be shot if they didn't already have a reputation for having a monotopic view of anything Clemson football.

Some maybe. I’d just like us to try. And I mean ACTUALLY try. Not a Hunter Johnson or some sort of family connection thing. If we were to have our name even mentioned as seriously pursuing some of the “better” talent in the portal, I think that would go a long way in convincing me we are back in the “whatever it takes to win” days pre-2019.

How much better can Clemson be? There is ALWAYS room for improvement. Dabo has said those very words.
In a competitive world there should ALWAYS be a constant pursuit of perfection.
As far as the transfer portal, the journalists on the very website you are on agree we should give the portal a shot for certain needs.

players yet to decide their plans[NFL, transfer, return, other] after the bowl game?
Players can declare for this Transfer Portal cycle until January 18th.
Mid-year, Spring Semester admissions deadline is 12/15? So Summer is likely, which means time isn't an issue. Are more decisions to be made after Spring?
There are currently 23 verbally committed High School players - how many other offers exist and decisions that are yet to be made?
A lot of unknowns, so I'll let those with far, far more information make the most informed decisions.

Sorry to disagree FM but Streeter's play calling was good in 1 game out of 12 and it was the next to last one. Facts are facts. Play calling and personnel were his downfall all season.

It came down to QB, which we had in Cade. Then the rest is on Streeter or Dabo. The portal wouldn't have changed anything.

I could see that happening! Because everybody knows except for the person who is compensated to know these things, LOL!
I think we will see Clemson hit the portal this year! I'm calling it now; we sign a portal player who has never been at Clemson and they will be on the roster come fall!
