“Trevor Lawrence will be the starter by the start of ACC play against Georgia Tech,” Staples said. “I think Dabo Swinney learned from 2014. Remember back in 2014 , Deshaun Watson was a freshman and Cole Stoudt was the veteran. They went with Cole Stoudt because he was a veteran at the beginning of the season and it cost them the ACC that year. I don’t think they’re going to make that mistake again. If Kelly Bryant and Trevor Lawrence are equal - and they feel Lawrence has a higher ceiling, they’ll go with Trevor earlier.”
That's the complete opposite of what Dabo said earlier this summer about KB and TL being equal. These talking heads are gonna be real surprised when we win the natty under the start of Kelly Bryant.

And so will I be surprised. If he takes us to "The Promised Land", nobody will be happier than I, but if he is going to do it, he better have learned how to complete some passes beyond the line of scrimmage, and our OL had better have learned how to protect him and to open some holes for a run game. If KB is so one dimensional again this year, teams will load the box, and we will struggle. IMO Lawrence does give us a better shot at utilizing our very gifted receivers, unless KB has dramatically improved from the AL game and the Spring game where he looked worse. Our RB's and receivers are too talented to be relegated to just block for KB to run most of the time.

Of course everyone is picking us to make the playoffs. We play one ranked team all year and the rest are doormats including who we'll probably face in the ACC championship. It would take something unheard of to keep us from making it

Very high exspectations which is very nice, and yes at this stage our schedule seems good, but let the season get going. Fla St., Louisville, NC State could all be extremely challenging as years past, and a sleeper could show just like the last two years. But we are deep all over, receiver, rb, d line, o line. We have great experience and leadership, I like our chances more, coaching staff and players will work out QB situation we’ll be fine! Go Tigers!
