Definitely hit something. Ball changed rotation and moved to the right. Should have been HBP.

As someone else said, I always thought the hand was considered part of the bat in that situation? Guess knot.

That pain reaction wasn’t fake. Ball ricocheted off his knuckle. Didn’t matter. Next pitch he walked to first anyways.

Take a bat amd hold it out in front of you and drop it. This is proof that your hands are not part of the bat because your hands will remain attached to your wrists and not drop with the bat. Should have been HBP.

When I was playing, and coaching, the hand was considered part of the bat. I saw that called a foul ball many times.

If you know the rules of baseball, the hand is not part of the bat, a tie does not go to the Runner, and a foul tip is not a pitched ball that is barely tipped by the bat. Announcers, coaches and players rarely know the rules.

If you know the rules of baseball, the hand is not part of the bat, a tie does not go to the Runner, and a foul tip is not a pitched ball that is barely tipped by the bat. Announcers, coaches and players rarely know the rules.
Do you know baseball rules? A tie doesn't go to the runner because there is no such thing as a tie, the runner either beats the throw or he doesn't. If the ball goes directly from the bat into the catcher's mitt it is a strike and a foul tip. If it's the third strike it's a strike out.
