but I don’t see the benefit of making TDers public, unless your goal is to suppress them. The way to do what you’re asking would be to hide who TUs as well. Then you have a rating system, which you don’t have a problem with, but all voting is anonymous, just like our election system. It’s odd that posters with pulse rates under 100% are typically the ones who want to know who is giving out the TDs. While a lot of those same posters give out a higher than average proportion of TDs themselves.

There was a time, many years ago, when there was a particularly hateful, antagonizing poster on here who had several handles and scocks over the years, and I gave him a lot od TDs before I decided that giving TDs was dumb and chickenshid. I can't remember the last time I gave one, but I'm sure it has been years.

The first handle I remember is Blue Caddy - I hope my memory serves correctly, apologies if I've got that wrong. The biggest doosher in the history of T-net, he was banned and reappeared with a few other scocks which got banned as well. He may be here again now for all I know.

TD behavior when I first started on TNET. There were a handful of people I'd TD just to get under their skin and of course all of the coot trolls or just flat out idiotic posts.
I rarely TD these days(it has to be a terrible post or a coot troll), and honestly I think the only person I've TD'd more than a few times in the last 3-4 years is Judge Keller.

I think a lot of the good folks here take the content too seriously, thinking that opposing views from theirs are personal attacks. Actually, JK, the site reminds me of olden times tin can hallway arguments after ballgames, where folks were ready to strangle each other. Calmer heads would prevail, and the participants typically went out drinking beer together. Funny, how alcohol soothed feelings at times.....
I have and will TD posts, but only those whom I believe are deliberately trying to demean or debase Clemson and its programs...I call them "Im-posters." I learned as a 20-year-old Editor of "The Tiger" to allow for opposing views, for we typically had hefty numbers of students and faculty visit our offices or write Letters to the Editor, many of whom strongly disagreed with our positions. Yet, as space allowed, we printed the letters without comment...a position supporting free speech.
I like TNet's format, and my continued membership is due to the fact that there are a lot of good people participating with a lot more knowledge about our programs and the techniques than I have. I also like opposing views offered, which provide more food for thought. Regardless of your modus operandi, you are a strong defender of our basketball program and staff, and your posts have caused me to think more carefully. That's good for the site and for all of our members.

it's not a negative all the time. There are times a TD makes more sense than a TU.
Always seemed silly to me to give a thumbs up to someone saying a loved one died, or sharing that they had someone they cared about in the hospital. You'd look like king of the ######### if someone shared something tragic with you in real life and you looked at them and gave a big grinning thumbs up.
