MIGHT have nailed it when asked Mondays game.
"Uga. will win. The SEC wanted two teams in the playoffs and the only way was to have Bama win the SECCG and then let Uga. win the Natty. Bama didn't really have a chance in that game."
That raised an eyebrow. We'll just have to wait and find out.

The SEC wanted to SEC teams to be in the finals? That's crazy insightful. I get your lunch pal's rationale for the SEC "having" Bama win the SECCG but what is the motive for "letting" UGA win the NC?
It is worthy of raising an eyebrow. Probably not for the reasons you think.

Many comments like this make sense in a lot of scenarios, but I always catch myself when I start to think about how many people would have to be involved to make it happen.
Almost the entire UGA roster would have to have been convinced to play at less than their peak performance for the betterment of a conference.
I also think that this sort of thing didn't just get invented for this one game, so there would have to be a history of it happening and working for it to continue to happen in the largest of circumstances.
Finally, I think about how many whistleblowers for so many of the things done wrong in every other area of business and even in previous sporting events that someone tried to rig and somehow no disgruntled player, official, or school employee has ever run their mouth about what they were told was going to happen.
That's where it all falls apart for me.
The only place that I entertain the idea that it's partially scripted is in the NBA where just a few players have so much control over each outcome and they are already paid plenty of money to keep them quiet forever.

The notion of this is, in a word, stupid. Of course the SEC would like to have two teams in the semis. They'd like to have 3 (which by the way, is a real possiblity if playoff expansion happens, but that's a different topic). Same people pumping this are the guys who are convinced Houston Texas executives hired 25 or so massage "therapists" to frame Deshawn Watson. Same guys actuallly believe refs cheat (always against their team - never to their advantage).

I remember one of the early CFP ranking shows where Skip Bayless had 4 SEC teams in his playoff prediction. LOL. But this is eSECpn’s wet dream.
Actual final rankings were Alabama, Oregon, FSU, Ohio State - with the nuts beating Bama and Oregon for the Championship with their third-string QB.

I think Alabama is just more talented in the right areas than Georgia, and better coached as well.
I'll be shocked if Georgia wins on Monday.

Agree judge up to the point of being shocked if uga wins. Bama has been up and down at times. Enough as in Texas AM beat them. Close either way.

Monday.
These athletes spend 8 months every year preparaing for a 4 month season (assuming they are in the CFP, or bowl game). Bama will beat UGA, and they will continue to beat UGA until UGA is "better" than Bama.

That is a hard~ Not ~in my opinion!!
I agree they wanted two SEC teams to ~flex the muscle and continued bragging rights~ so to speak but for UGA to win ? Nah!
They are trying to make the game seem a little more interesting because they know Bama is going to blow them all away.
If UGA wins, there is "grease palming" somewhere. I hope it is a competitive game but based on the SECCG ... Bama made them look sad!!!

I see numb nuts from UGA is back on here. They have been wanted an all SEC matchup for decades. AFDAWG, you need to get your head out of the sand.

There was no conspiracy. Bama just won the game. Georgia may win this game. Who knows? The game will be decided on the field just like the last game.
