I didn’t expect to beat Virginia, but I’m disappointed that we weren’t more competitive.

They are a good team and a matchup problem for us. Congrats to them. Their game against Duke tomorrow should be a good one.
We are definitely an NCAA Tournament team. If we don’t get in, something is very wrong with the process.
Proud of our team for the year they’ve had. Go Tigers!

It wasn’t just bad tonight it was a painful loss, hopefully this makes everyone involved better because of it.
I believe our strategy was all wrong from the start but I don’t get paid the big bucks.
Love to see this as a turnaround for the greatest turnaround in history, NC state style!

If NC St or pitt gets in over us then there is something wrong with the system imo. Wish we would have played better tonight. Maybe we will get one more shot at uva later on.

We lost too many games to sucky teams. I think the Brownell era is over.

3 games by an average of more the 20 points. We have similar records and it's not like they have anything to stand on other then our 2 quad 4 Ls.

This is exactly what the prognosticators have been seeing. We won a few nice games, but looking outclassed against real teams and losing to some of the worst teams in the NCAA will cost us.
We needed to at least look competitive tonight. That's all we needed to do.

We have won 7 games against teams in the tournament. We are 5-0 against 3 teams that are projected to be in that are on the bubble. I don't believe the committee puts those 3 teams in over us. Just my opinion. Maybe I'm wrong but I hope not.

Yes should have been .
My biggest fault in Brownell is I truly do not feel that it takes him awhile in a game to see which players have it going that night and which ones do not.
And he never seems to be able to slow the game down for a player or two, or calm his team down. He seems to be hands-off with managing the emotional psyche of the players during the game.
Tonight:
- Chase was off early. He was trying to do way, way too much. It took until after 12 minutes in first half for CBB to be talking alone to Chase.
- PJ Hall was rushing and frenetic in terms how he was going to the basket. He took a dumb 3PT shot after missing one previously.
Granted, UVA's defense was the reason Clemson was struggling. But this team needed someone to see early that they were going to need to be managed, handled, calmed down, motivated, reassured. It never occurred.
My gripe for CBB tonight was the game was lost around middle of first half. Two main Clemson players were trying to do too much. CBB should have used a timeout early in first half to settle his team. He didn't as he always waits for the Media Timeout.
This team should be down tonight. They underperformed. They did not meet the moment.
They will see if they get into the NCAAs. However, based on the expectations before the game and based on the outsome of this game vs UVA, my bets will be that Clemson will not be invited into NCAAs.

I think the team's issues you pointed out are a reflection of CBB. Therefore he can't help them in that regard. Your observations are spot on though.

A win or a loss. I just watched the game. UVA shot the ball well, Clemson did not. I don’t cast blame on anyone who had an off day. I’m proud of this Tiger team and their season.

Our offense was and has been for the most part - throwing up 3’s. We shoot well .. good, throw up clunkers .. no. I think we lost it just before the half. Live by the three, die by the three. While not the top two or three teams in the ACC, we should get in, I don’t know. It was a great season as compared to most. Wish them the best in whatever tournament we make.

You didn't notice that we run a system that seemingly requires us to shoot really well to win games?
Did you at least notice how many second chance baskets UVa had while we had around 0?

Can you explain why we are definitely an NCAA team? Best win against duke when they weren't ranked and a bunch of average wins.
The losses seem way worse than the positives we've had. I hope we're in, but what makes you think we are "definitely" in when this year's ACC is non comparable to previous.

How can we expect to win with such horrible facilities and terrible fans? Nevermind the fact 75 teams have done better than us over the last dozen years, and a bulk of them don't have our facilities or hungry fanbase.

We couldn't hit any shots tonight and refused to try and get second-chance buckets. I understand why against NCSU and UNC we would do this because you need to get back because they like to run the floor. UVA doesn't play that kind of ball and we failed to adjust when our shots didn't fall. It will be the late-season losses to UNC and Louisville that cost us. Not just that we lost both those games but were beaten soundly.
