I'm pulling for DePaul and OP to lose. I hope that snake in the grass never smells success again!

nice years with him at the helm. I liked him and hated he left but we are better with BB.
Dont care either way if he wins. He's probably about to get canned there anyway

I loved him as a coach while he was here and did not

want to see him go, but the way he handled his exit here spoke volumes about Oliver Purnell the person. All the way to never actually addressing his team about leaving and leaving it to an assistant. Gutless if you ask me. For that I have no respect and I can not root for a person like that.

Plus he knew that he had dropped the ball on the recruiting and had nothing to build a winning team with. He was working much to hard recruiting the young girls for his personal pleasure, over recruiting young men for playing Basketball. Successful men biggest down fall is when they let their small one eye head do their thinking.

to expectations along with the ones that got away, he decided it was time to bolt because his image was going to take a hit in the coming few years. His recruiting suffered down the stretch and his coaching/system couldn't get us out of the first round of the tournament.
I like what Oliver did for the most part, while he was here, but the state he left us in I do not like. We paid him well, good things happened while he was here, but I wasn't sad to see him go.

But I don't agree with it. A true Clemson man would leave with class. I don't feel he lived up to that billing.

But tell me why I should have lingering feelings for a man who ran away in the middle of the night ? We gave him s solid job and he returned the favor by having a supposed affair and ducking out before he was forced to answer questions...

supposed? I've heard this come up but never seen anyone who knew. these type rumors always come up when guys leave. sometimes its just sour grapes.
not defending because I dont know. Just seeing supposed seems a tad weak truth wise to me

The best part is no one can say who the affair was with and the ones that do, I have been told 3 different people. In reality, no one on here knows the truth.

And the truth is simple. It simply doesn't matter.
We were never going to match the offer, and he left.
He could've handled leaving better, no doubt. But i see no reason to wish him ill.
Shake his hand, wish him well, and move on. Anything else is just misspent effort.
That is the truth.

i simply pointed out how odd that is, so if you're agreeing to disagree, it's with yourself... which seems a tad queer[in a weird sort of way].

I don't know the reasons behind OP leaving, if it was just money or if the rumors that circulate are true, but I appreciate his time at Clemson. Watching an OP coached basketball team at Clemson was a really fun time. He's gone, I wish him well in the future.
