ready for us to have another talented player whose ability is so transcendent that we can't keep him off the field as a true freshman. Like a Deshaun Watson, or before him, Sammy Watkins.
I'd have to say, of all the players I have ever seen come through Tigertown, Sammy Watkins was the only one that NEVER looked like a true freshman. He was an immediate game changing weapon when he came through the door. Sure would like to see another one of those!

CJ Spiller was pretty good as a true freshman

Spiller and Watkins both had about 1400 all purpose yards as freshmen - rushing, receiving, and kick returns.

Would've been Randall had he not gotten injured. May still happen.

You’re right. I remember Sammy being named a starter after around 2 practices.

Sammy was a freshman when my daughter was a sophomore at Clemson. He was a celebrity on campus that year. She texted me one time and said Sammy was sitting at the booth next to them at the dining hall as if he was a huge star. ?

I think he was a summer arrival also, so as fresh as they come. Morris was new as OC and didn't have him around that first spring.

Sammy was extraordinarily gifted. He could ###### the ball out of the air like he was picking apples. Somtimes you could hear the ball " pop " when it hit his hands. That guy was at full speed first step. You don't coach that. It's a gift from God.
