I am not the least bit worried about F$U this weekend...

With all of our defensive stars returning from injury, they will be chomping at the bit to make a big play. I see our defensive front 7 dominating this game and our defensive backs doing enough to hold down the secondary.
I think we run the ball effectively which opens up the passing game.

You would make a terrible coach! I've never seen/known/heard of a coach that wasn't concerned until the final whistle blows. Ask aTm and Notre Dame, ship happens, even with Ship.

Clemson wins. But, it won't be easy!

FSU could turn their whole season around by beating Clemson. Especially because they have already beaten LSU.
Jordan Travis worries me to no end. Johnny Wilson worries me and Bethune on defense worries me. Outside of those three; I like our matchups! I like our matchups with those players as well, but they are a lot more evenly matched.
You always have to worry on the road about how your players will respond to adversity and an adversarial crowd.

This game depends on only one thing….like all of our games….how will DJ play? People are saying the game is a big one for FlSt. Well it is a big one for DJ too. I hope he is his recent self.

Don't discount FSU

I remember the last time I was in Tally (2016) for a 37-34 comeback win. FSU had a decent team but I was really shocked how they hung in there with us. Of course Dalvin Cook carved us up on the ground but I felt we'd come out with a double digit win.

not just b/c FSU is much improved, but b/c that place is indescribably intimidating. Maybe not as much in recent years, but at 4-2 and with Clemson coming in, they're probably gonna party (and chop) like it's 1999.

I fully expect to see F$U fans in the crowd reading books with their shirts off by the end of the 3rd quarter. I wish it was the co-eds but it will be the overweight guys like me.

I truly don't want to doubt you but where are you getting this information that F$U has more explosive plays then anyone in the Country? More than Ohio State? More than Southern Cal? More than Alabama? More than Tennessee? More than Oklahoma State? More than TCU? I find this very hard to believe, but I digress.

Maybe I am missing something but F$U is currently ranked #22 in the Nation in total offense. Not a ranking I am worried about when our defense is healthy.

Like you showed, FSU is the best (and most explosive) offense we played. You mentioned Wake, so I ask TattedCop®, how did our defense hold up against Wake?
I fully expect better play in the secondary on Saturday, but FSU will get their's.

did not impress the bettors or the bookies. Offense was less than impressive for most of the game against a very average team. FSU is a better team and Dookie Camel is a much more hostile environment. Everyone seems to think we still have a lot to prove.

We did not play well in our first 3 games given the opposition, and the defense got eviscerated at Wake. Our last two games have been better (though the offense struggled for much of the BC game) and we've started to rebound in metrics similar to what Vegas uses.

yes, I do think a FG favorite is a bit low, BUT when you consider: -we've started slow in EVERY GAME thus far vs FBS opponents -we haven't been tested in a hostile road environment...........let alone at night.
it's more understandable.
All that being said I just don't see this FSU team or fan base being as tough now that they aren't playing for anything anymore. Had they beaten NCstate this game is 10-fold tougher. FSU has too much pride to be demoted to "playing spoiler" after they thought they were "back" this year. Their Conference and division hopes are all realistically GONE. If we can get up by 10-14 EARLY they'll fold (team and fans)..........if we let them hang around like every other FBS team we've played it could get dicey and the fans/team/environment are good enough to warrant the spread.

How do you think they reach a betting balance? By posting a number that isn't reflective of perceived team quality?
Vegas books want to set the opening number as accurately as possible so they don't get big bets on one side as soon as the line is posted. Having to move a line a bunch of points exposes the books to more risk. They want even money on both sides with as little line movement as possible.

I will take the ugliest of 1-point wins...exactly as I said before we visited Wake Forest. There are no bad wins on the road, especially not against good teams, and FSU is a pretty durn good team this year.
My hope is that their injury woes on the DL give us the ability to run convincingly.
Their offensive firepower, and Travis Jordan's mobility, worries me some. Our secondary has had some bad outings and mobile QB's have given us some trouble in the past. We need to stay disciplined and keep that dude corralled and bringing the house like we did against BC in the second half could get us burned bigly against these guys.
It would be a whole lot better for us if our OL could impose themselves some, eat clock, and score some points early.

If he is so excellent then why have they lost winnable games? Why were they terrible last year and mediocre this year? Why are we building up Florida State like they are Alabama? They are a mediocre, run of the mill, middle of the conference team.

Of course they are, that what Dabo get's paid to do. I am a fan and I am not scared one bit about F$U beating us this weekend. Mark it down, they will have 6 losses by the end of the year. Why should I take them seriously? What has F$U done this year for me to take them seriously? They have Shaq O'Neil as there starting WR. Jordan Travis is an average QB with average skills. He has done nothing his entire career to warrant everyone being scared and weary of his talent.

ACC team. They're likely the 4th best team in the Atlantic and maybe better than everyone in the coastal - only UNC is debatable.
2) If they were Bama we would be 14 pt dogs on the road and not 3.5 pt favorites. We should beat FSU more often than not, but it hardly seems like a certainty.
This Clemson team isn't on the level of 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, or likely 2017 or 2020 either. We have a good team, but it's not an elite team right now. It's not a championship contender right now. I think overconfident Clemson fans are overrating our own team more than just disrespecting our opponents. This team isn't way ahead of pack like some of our other squads. We aren't demolishing anyone 63-3 or 77-7. This team is beatable. It will take a good game from FSU to beat us, but if we were bringing our 2018 squad into Tally Saturday night it wouldn't matter if they played well, we would still whoop them. That isn't the case with this Tiger team. Not right now anyway. This team is beatable on a given night - and not just by the Bamas, Georgia's, and Ohio States of the world.

I completely agree , I think the def is better than nc state and fsu didn’t exactly move it that great on them… we should be able to run it enough and if we can keep throwing it like we have I believe we win a very similar game … I said 31-10 earlier in the week

run game.
FSU has more explosive plays than anyone in the country. They'll likely have some against our 95th ranked pass defense.
They have good RBs who will get some chunk plays.
They're 20th in sacks - way higher than anyone we've played. They WILL pressure DJ, and frankly we don't know yet how he'll respond.
They should've beaten NC State.
Doak will be nuts.
I think we're walking into the most difficult game of the season. I'm not comfortable calling this an easy win. I think it will be down to the wire, a close game, and an absolute nailbiter.

I always have a little angst about them all.
Oblong balls be tricky.

Some of you all are simply nuts. F$U does not have some of the most explosive players in the Country. They are an average middle of the road team fighting to remain relevant. At the end of the year they will have 6 losses like every other mediocre team.
