I am no expert on oil companies, but.

Jun 13, 2022, 9:25 AM

They were just talking oil companies such as EXXON. Anyway, EXXON won't pump more. They are crushing it financially as their stock price has gone from 60 to 93 on a very short time, so they don't have reason to pimp more and lower the price per barre. On the other hand, they were stating that although they would probably still say no, they might slightly consider if we ended the windfall tax. There are supposedly are factors that would kill the deal, EXXON doesn't want to pump more and it would also be dead on arrival on Bidens desk. Not very positive.

Excuse any typos. I don't have my glasses as they were left in a friend's car.

Nope. Venezuela is in the toilet. They have just signed an agreement with Iran to import crude oil to refine in an effort to increase domestic petroleum products.

Why do we care if they are leftists if we can get their oil? It'snot like they would end up some superpower threat imo.

The U. S already shops to Venezuela. Hey, they are paying nearly $ .20 / gallon there! ($US) seems like Putin didn’t have an effect on their gas pumps.

if not for Obama, the pipeline would have been finished. Liberals were supposed to be off of fossil fuels by now, but here we are.

Jun 13, 2022, 10:04 AM

be the net result? Dirty tar sands crude for which the US has no capacity to refine, being transported all the way to the gulf, loaded onto ships, and exported. Neat. Sounds like the perfect solution to our gas problems.

UR dumber

Jun 13, 2022, 10:47 AM

Those in favor of the pipeline have several diverse points which bolster their opinion. For example, the pipeline will increase the diversity of the U.S. petroleum supply. It will also create up to 43,000 jobs, the majority of which will be permanent. Proponents also argue that the pipeline will enhance U.S. energy security and help maintain adequate crude oil supplies for U.S. refineries. The pipeline will allow the U.S. to substitute Canadian oil for other foreign oil. Keystone XL will provide the U.S. with direct pipeline access to the secure and growing Canadian crude output and decrease our dependence on foreign oil from Mexico and Venezuela (the two largest oil exporters into the Gulf Coast). Finally, the pipeline would expand the transportation of oil sands from the Midwest to the Gulf Coast.

Economic Benefits

As mentioned, the pipeline will connect to existing Keystone Mainline and increase the transport of oil sands from Canada and the Midwest to the Gulf Coast. In addition, it will boost U.S. energy production, thereby providing a boost to our economy. How? Canada is our largest trading partner and is important to U.S. job creation. An estimate from the Canadian Energy Research Institute in 2011 estimated that new oil sands development in Canada would create about 444,000 new U.S. jobs and generate about $521 billion in U.S. government revenue over the next two decades. Recent estimates are that the project itself will create about 43,000 permanent jobs. When the U.S. expands its energy transportation system, additional workers are required to maintain and oversee it.

dont you have like multiple DUI's?

Jun 13, 2022, 8:54 PM

I mean you claim to ride a bike 28 miles day, that sounds state mandated.. Why do you care about gas prices? Just put your money where your mouth is and drink the gasoline instead. $5 a gallon is still cheaper than beer.

No DUIs, but lots of visible abs.

I care about gas and energy in general being off the charts because both are major contributors to our record inflation, which is a major contributor to the shtty market, which is a major contributor to my retirement.

Anymore questions.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why would they?

Jun 13, 2022, 9:56 AM

They learned from these same market conditions circa 2014. Their best interest is to return value to their shareholders. Right, wrong, or indifferent, that's what they're doing. If you're not long Oil that's your problem.

They have an administration clearly doing their best to limit the output of their market as quickly as possible. They're facing direct additional taxation for profits based on market conditions. They're facing mounting pressure from the Street's ESG investment.

This is literally what many, myself included, predicted in an environment where you push to go green too quickly - you inflate the commodity classes associated with traditional energy production with no safety valve for everyday citizens. We're just getting started.

But sure, ask Venezuela and the Saudis for more oil...lol. Laughable logic here bro.

The solution must be MORE GOVERNMENT intervention.

How about we just take over the oil companies - nationalize them? That is a foolproof solution based on history, correct?

I can arely see properly thanks to leaving my reading glasses in a friend's car. It's easy to type, ut harder to read the font on the screen. Anyway, the world needs to e flooded with oil to make the difference we need. We need ,uch more than we can produce to save us at the moment. The oil companies of the US are happy to get 120 or so. Why drill more? There is less equopment and labor costs and you still get more. My comment wasn't exactly directed at you, but I just posted it here anyway. The oil companies around the planet are milking it. It's not like the USA could flood the market. I think we should do better though. It still wouldnt change that much. They like the situation.

very few "experts" left in this world. The "experts" advising Biden are saying the complete opposite of what the experts in the actual field are saying.

Proof that being a "professor", doesn't make you an expert.
