I am just not impressed with Tyler Grisham as a coach at

this point. We had a 4 star Receiver IN STATE who we didn't offer until we didn't get any of the recruits we wanted, and last years rec. core did not play very well. I know the QB play was horrible but they didn't get open often or catch well either.
Our Rec. core has been terrific for a long time, but last year and the recruiting class this year is feeling different.

That’s all they do, imagine if Dabo actually listened to these people. Wonder if they are absolutely perfect at their jobs the way they expect everyone else to be. At least it’s amusing reading grown man cry about the sky falling because they don’t get the players they want.

He may still have it, but it's been a good while since I haven't heard the show on the radio in a while.

I remember a few years ago during Jeff Scott's first couple of years the whiner posters like yourself said he did not know how to coach. Then we signed Nuk and Sammy and all of a sudden he was a genius. Now fast forward a few years we had a transition year where we had no returning experience, a bunch of injuries and freshman/Swinney's forced into playing time and whiners like you come out of the woodwork to complain

Last year was not a good year to pass judgment on the receivers. There were too many injuries.

and there were so many things wrong with our offense it's hard to tell which units were the most responsible between QB, IOL, and WRs. The WRs did drop balls but so did our TEs.
About the only thing you can really say is that he was not able to pull in his top WR target but let's see how he does next year - this was an extremely hard year to recruit I can imagine plus he's young and new. We got to let him establish himself especially with recruiting.
The dude does love his gum, haha.

The ONLY guy you can say was a bit of a disappointment was Ross but he hadn't played in a year +.
Ngata played well when he was in there I thought.

What season did you watch? They were all pretty terrible. Ross, Ngata, Ajou, Ladson. Dropped balls, didn't know who to block. Couldn't get open. Didn't fight for contested balls. They were flat out terrible.

I agree, our wrs were not very good last year. Lots of drops and poor blocking fundamentals. They improved over the season but nothing close to what we had in prior years

You certainly can complain; however the only person at Clemson that Tyler Grisham must please is a fellow called Dabo Swinney!

I think it's highly unfair to judge him based on his 2 years here due to the high amount of injuries we've had at the position each year. This past season he had Ross coming back after missing a year and then playing hurt all season before finally missing the final few games. He lost Spector before the season started, lost Brown very early in the season, had Ngata miss several games, and basically had Ladson and Williams miss the entire season.
All that left him with 2 true freshman and former walk-ons at the position. I think it's insane to judge him for the groups performance based on that, especially with poor play at the QB position on top of that. Also, I though Beaux Collins developed very well over the 2nd half of the season.
The prior year we had Ross miss the entire season, and had Ngata and Ladson out for most of it. Meanwhile, Rodgers had the best season of his career and Powell looked like one of the best receivers in the country over the 2nd half of the season after barely getting on the field during his first 3 years at Clemson. EJ Williams also developed very well late in that season.

I’ve been somewhat concerned about the receivers as well but you make good points about the success of Powell and Rodgers last year and development of some of the young guys.
Hopefully the guys will learn how to block on the perimeter better. Got sick of seeing the wide receiver screens get blown up because the guys in front were missing their blocks.

You couldn't be more wrong. Grisham was an understudy to Jeff Scott who was an understudy to Dabo Swinney. Dabo still has a VERY ACTIVE role in coaching receivers. So if you're bashing Grisham then you're bashing Dabo and claiming he has no idea how to coach receivers which is just the dumbest thing I've read on here in a LONG LONG time. You want to complain about how the recruiting went last year well I say Clemson didn't get who they wanted at first but was still able to get a top 150 guy who was willing to wait and stand by Clemson. So forgive me if I think your take is GARBAGE.
