I don't have anything against vaccines, but I think I'm gonna hold a minute for the booster.

Surely I'm still getting some protection from the original.

They say it's still the same kicking your butt for 24 hours as with the other shots.

If Moderna.....meh..... Don't even think they've approved a Moderna booster yet. Guess when you get over 3+ times as much mRNA (no one mentions that), it probably lasts longer, and kicks your butt moar 2. At the rate of antibody decline for Moderna, it should be good for a year, before it reaches the level of Pfizer now anyway.

shots in Jan and Feb. I've recently had several exposures to positive individuals, including working in an enclosed space for several hours.

To my knowledge, I've never had Covid, and I really never changed any habits like eating out all the time the last year, quit wearing masks a long time ago, etc. I think some people are just never going to get it, whether some genetic fluke or whatever...knock on wood...

I’m seeing this a lot. Fully vaxed and hesitant about the booster.

knock on wood, it has done the trick. Or I've been lucky.

So I think I'd rather just still trust that it's doing the trick instead of sending another shock wave through the old immune system.

would help a ton if the first shots didn't do the trick.

So for me, I feel like the original deal worked. I wonder if your co-workers would've still gotten sick even with booster? My guess is yes. Seems like covid really likes certain people. Weird deal and I don't understand it.

I haven't read the research on the boosters yet to know***

I have a very informal exercise for you to do. Make a list of all the people you know who have Covid now or have had Covid. Place them in 1 of the following 3 categories:
1) Fully vaccinated , has Covid
2) Fully vaccinated and has or had 2nd infection after being vaccinated.
3) Has had 2nd infection , never vaccinated.
Let me know which category has the lowest number.

Sure, you do one for me

2. 5 second infections. Minor symptoms (mainly headache and tired)

3. 3 (1 is on a vent 1 is dead and 1 is just really sick.)

Ok I’m confused. 20 minutes ago you knew 2 who are reinfections and never vaccinated. Now you know 3 ( 1 dead, 1 vent, 1 sick).
Let’s just do this , you make your health care decisions based on what you see and know and I’ll do the same.

the social contract theory which we all subscribe to in society is to look out for the well-being of others.

We see this with our own rights laid out in the Bill of Rights. We have these rights until our rights infringe on somebody else's rights

Wrapping yourself up in the flag and the guise of patriotism saying that health decisions are my right is true. Until your right to make your own decisions directly impact other people's rights to live.

My decision has nothing to do with patriotism. When did I even hint at that. It’s based on natural immunity and that is science. So, I am absolutist not putting anyone at risk any more than a vaccinated person. I’m most likely less likely to infect someone else.

It's obviously your choice, but as you've already had two shots, what has subsequently come out to make you hesitant? The studies from Israel do show a significant drop off in protection with the passage of time, but sure you still have more protection than if you had never been vaxxed.

If you're 65, why not take round 3?

I took round 3 a couple days ago. I felt tired for a day and my arm was sore, but the pharmacy tech that administered the shot apparently went to the Josef Mengele School of Medicine. The other shots didn't hurt a bit going in. Apparently the tech's husband pissed in her cornflakes that morning. She rammed that thing to the bone it felt like, so I can't really blame the actual vaccine for the sore arm.

Good luck with your decision.
