I disagree that it's all political. The numbers indicate that both D & R don't have the answer and both are complicit ....
It needs to be handled by the legislative branch with comprehensive reform but nobody does anything.

Not a pressing one, our politicians could give 2 fuggs, it is just fodder for the xenophobic mouf breathers. It is having zero impact in your life unless you clean motels or hang drywall, and your local econmy very well is dependent on the cheap labor they provide.. It is also flat out fabrication that millions are just casually walking across our border.

Just look at marijuana legalization. Nearly 60% of Americans think it should be legal. Its continued prohibition is causing a huge strain on minority communities, as well as our law enforcement resources. Many states have already legalized it.

I (and plenty of others) have been saying for several years that the conservative nature of this bloc would bite the Dems in their culos, and I think we're just seeing the beginnings of that coming to pass. It's not quite at the point where they've abandoned the strategy though. If they truly thought all these people coming in were (R) voters, Joe would issue so many effective and pragmatic border control executive orders that it would make your head spin.
Do agree that it's a multiple answer issue----the old school Chamber of Commerce portion of the Pub party still has lobbyists reminding them constantly that their customers need this labor.

- Aggressively entrepreneurial
- Tradfam-focused
- Conservative social values
- Religious
Maybe. Just maybe. If the GOP spoke to them like allies, instead of just red meat for the base, the GOP would never have to worry about losing another election.
But yeah, talk to any restaurant or service industry establishment and ask how they're doing on labor, and how that's impacting consumer prices and general service availability.

Congress ultimately has to fix it.
The Pubs want the border more secure and then consider the Dreamers and potential pathways to citizenship for those here for a long time.
The Dems want the latter and then consider shoring up the border.
Instead of reaching a compromise and trying to accomplish both objectives in a timely fashion, the status quo continues which the Dems are ok with and the Pubs are mostly not.
Check out video from the El Paso airport. It reminds me of a 3rd world airport.
Congress needs to deal with this now and then get back to Trump and Hunter, neither of which are a pressing problem, as Trump golfs in Palm Beach and Hunter paints in Malibu.

No first world country in the world allows millions a year to just stroll across their borders and then sign up for govt benefits as they drop anchor babies left and right. You know they they don't? Thats right, because it's cultural suicide. Of course thats music to the ears of leftists who hate this country anyway, but let's not pretend like Republicans have much of a track record of doing anything about it either other than using it as a campaign issue.
