Proposal for a New Rival

I understand that for some this may be too soon to bring up in light of yesterday’s disappointing news from the SEC but I’ve had this thought prior to finding out Clemson will not play South Carolina this season.

I think Clemson needs to a new official rival and it should be UGA. Clemson and Georgia should leave their respective “rivals” and let GT and South Carolina faceoff each year if they want to—heck let The Citadel take our spot VS the chickens.
It’s not even competitive anymore. I love beating them year in and year out. It’s fun having a little brother to beat up on but I believe it’d be even more fun to have a real rival each year. It would also be the most “big brother” move to get up and leave to find someone else to match up against.
I understand the history and the longevity and even the financial boost for our state every time we play but if I’m honest, I’m bored with them. We already have an established history playing UGA, there is proximity, etc. I bet they’re bored playing the nerds at GT each year.

the '80s/'90s , and from a recruiting standpoint anyway, continues to be.

The dirtpeckers bring nothing to the table. In fact, playing them hurts our SOS.

I have enjoyed seeing Clemson dominate. Personally I’m just bored with the chickens. I wish we’d play UGA every year as our new rival when we can get back to “normal”.
