How would you compare pitt’s O to what we faced in UGA’s O?

Oct 21, 2021, 12:59 PM

Just wondering how our D will perform against them

UGA is like drinking wine at a tailgate and Pitt is like drinking liquor.

As long as you have a plan it's pretty easy to keep from getting in too much trouble when you are drinking wine. However, if you are not careful wine can burn you a little.

You better have a pretty good plan when you set out to drink liquor all day at a tailgate. Sure there are ways you can go about it and not get hurt at all, but the risk is much higher and you could end up face down in your own vomit before you know what's going on.

However you can get help.

Let's call Clemson's offense "food".

With just a little food, wine has no chance to defeat you but for some reason at times people will forget to eat while drinking wine. Even worse sometimes the food hurts you worse than the wine and you get food poisoning and do "you know what" down your leg even if the wine didn't bother you at all.

On the other hand, food is a must when tailgating with liquor. If your food does not show up and do it's part to help you win the battle then you will be "faced" with the picture painted above. I'm not talking a couple of crackers and cheese here. You need some substance that will actually provide nourishment for the long battle.

I hope this has been a very clear description of how I would compare the offenses of two of our top opponents so far this season.

Anybody have any tailgating plans for the weekend?

I'm gonna eat a big ole greasy cheeseburger and fries. Then hopefully some peach cobbler and ice cream.

I feel as long as I don't drink too much and then forget to eat, or forget to turn on the grill, then I'll be fine.

Careful with the sugar intake from the dessert because it can make you have to fight much harder and leave you with some nasty feelings on the day after even if you would consider gameday a win.

Too much peach cobbler and ice cream is like a late turnover (no pun intended) that causes your defense to work much harder.

Think of this like how our defense has had to work so hard to achieve the wins that key players have been lost to injury throughout the season so far.

Dang, I love a good analogy as much as I love tailgating. Good job, go Tigers, and drink more wine, liquor and a beer chaser!

First off it's hard to compare two different "O's" 6 weeks apart. On the flip side, however, I would be more concerned how our "O" line will do against the defense.

Well at no time in the UGA game did I feel like we would win and the UGA coaches played not to lose .
So you can’t really compare anything against the UGA game

I was never too worried about Daniels. I believe Pickett will get his from time to time. He gets better every year. I believe we will need more points to beat Pitt than we needed to beat UGA.

Pitt is number 4 in total offense, while Georgia is number 48. (hope that answers your question)

Georgia is number 1 in total defense, while Clemson is number 2 in total defense

Pitt O is going to be a lot harder to overcome than UGA.

We caught Georgia early in the year before they strapped on their cleats and figured out they needed to face the opposing team rather than drop their pants and moon them. We all saw Venebles defense doesn't ever fool around, the problem is that defense has had to push back HARD for 5 of the last 6 games. And in this game they are facing an O that tacked 52 on GT who the Tigers barely were able to score 14 and barely held GT multiple times. Now with 6 games behind them, I'm afraid that if Pitt O comes out blazing early they'll get a jump off the bat that the Tiger O can't match... the only hope then is that Nolan Turner get one of his interceptions and run-back TDs to keep the Tigers in the game.

I'm calling it a true 50/50 toss-up if we don't see some serious QB improvement. And that's a #### shame when Pitt is that much of a challenge for 4 and 5 star recruits.

IMO, if you forget the stats for a second. I know CU is playing uphill going to Pitt. But at this stage in the season, I believe they have a 50/50 chance at Pitt versus playing GA rigth now.

As stated by others, our 5's and 4's are going to have to step up on offense.

Pickett is better than JT or the "mailman"

Oct 22, 2021, 11:48 AM

UGa backs are better and there is obviously no comparing defenses.
