How we could compare this QB situation.

To me this quarterback competition reminds me more of Deshaun vs. Cole rather then Kelly vs. Trevor.
Trevor came in and you could just tell he was going to be special, even in the spring game, you could tell there was a talent gap between him and Kelly.
Going away from the spring game in 2014, you could definitely tell Deshaun had some learning to do before becoming a Clemson legend we all Know him to be. Cade is very similar to Deshaun in a lot of ways.
Cade has some growing and maturing to do as a quarterback before he’ll be ready to light the world up. Give him until game 4 or 5 and he’ll start.
What are your thoughts? Does this battle remind you more of Deshaun vs Cole or Trevor vs Kelly?

Very true. And as for me, I expect our amazing coaching staff to do the right thing! I really don’t believe Dabo is going to call me for guidance.
With that said, Clemson will be fortunate if they win a dozen games this season!(

but discussion about it on a Clemson Football discussion board is okay, right?
Personally, I didn't see enough Saturday to proclaim that Cade will be the starter in four games.
Does that mean DJ doesn't have a lot to prove this year? Certainly not. He should be way further along than what I saw on Saturday, but that was just one half of a spring game. They had a whole Spring practice season we didn't see at all.
Dabo is certainly not going to tell us that DJ hasn't improved. I guess it's going to be a wait-and-see deal.

Deshaun did not play in his freshman spring game because he hurt his collarbone.

Season opener, DW4 came in late in 1st half and threw an absolute bullet through two defenders for a TD. Many complained that he didn’t start or at least that he wasn’t left in for rest of game. Yes situation much more comparable to Watson/Stroud. I’m sure the pleas to make the change sooner rather then later will also be similar. It’s already starting.

It was obvious to me Cade is the better QB. His mobility will be necessary with a so so O line. He seems to be able to make a play when everything breaks down. He has a quick release and appears to me sees downfield better. He has more liveliness to him which makes him a better leader. DJ did not look a lot better than last year. Mobility even though weight loss is not there. Who is he going to outrun? Touch passes when you gotta drop it in was lacking. I do believe Dabo will start him due to experience but I believe Cade will become the starter before year end.

MOBILITY, ACCURACY/TOUCH, CONSISTENCY and ABILITY TO AUDIBLE with a developing O-Line is everything. Which QB will be able to provide these skill sets?

Kade is a special talent in my opinion. Quick release and soft touch. Adequate arm strength along with quick feet. I think DJ will probably be the starter but really needs to improve.
