there were at least 6 points that they scored off of an easy offensive rebound. Almost everyone of our players were 10-12' away from the paint. No one stayed at home. The balls bounced almost twice before Rut picked it up for an easy layup.

I guess you could say that. There were a few that were bad, but I can guarantee you brownell isn’t coaching that.
Also, a lot of it is just being a small team.

It was very clear on several occasions during the game that our players were coached to get back on D and not even look at the offensive glass. Their backs were turned before the ball hit the rim.

Because it was a bad matchup for them.
Honestly, Rutgers would have won today if their coach wasn't a bonehead. There offense was slicing up UH's defense but then he had them milk the clock way too early and they stopped scoring.
Sometimes the best defense is the opposing coach stopping his own team.

The team did three of the four or five things they really couldn't afford to do.
1 - They didn't block-out and rebound (Rutgers generally loses when they get out-rebounded).
2 - They committed a bunch of boneheaded unforced turnovers, and
3 - They went through two long scoring droughts in the 2nd half
I'm still trying to figure out why late in the game, when we had fouls to give, we didn't foul and extend the game. Rutgers is one of the worst FT shooting teams in the B1G.
