Another franchise record for Trevor Lawrence

Jan 2, 2022, 1:53 PM

Trevor Lawrence didn't need the extra game to set a Jacksonville Jaguars rookie record for passing yards, adding to his rookie mark for completions already.

His Jaguars are trailing 14-3 at the moment at New England today.

He just threw another pick. Pass was too high.

How many picks did Peyton throw

Jan 2, 2022, 2:04 PM

As a rookie?

Manning also didn't have a historically bad TD%. Lawrence has been awful and not just because he's been in a bad situation.

Please tell us how many High School, College or NFL games you've played in or coached. You seem to have a lot of opinions on TL #16, so you obviously have an abundance of experience in the field.

You don't have to be a coach, a player or anything. You listen, watch, and read from the ones who have. He's regressed all year. He's never been through anything like this. Everything has always been easy. Does his situation help, not at all. He himself even admits it. He knows he's forcing it.

It's no secret he didn't get the best prep at Clemson. We don't allow our qbs to go out and sling it. We run college rpo. Trevor didn't have to throw guys open at Clemson. With the schedule we play, he didn't have to. He could wait on routes to open. The selling point that Bama and uga, lesser extent osu, use is the competition in their leagues is what they'll face in the NFL. True of every position. It's no big secret and pointing it out doesn't make you anti Clemson or a Dabo hater or anything else.

Trevor will get the training he needs. They'll get his arm slot corrected and his happy feet. As well as his head right. I was so hoping the mystery analysist we were bringing in was cutcliff.

Hey Clem gal

Jan 2, 2022, 3:03 PM

You seem to think that you have an expert opinion of how the Clemson staff handles our QBs. Just wondering - what is it that’s given you such expert analytical prowess and ability to evaluate the Clemson coaching staff, Clem gal? Are you a college or NFL football coach? Have you ever been an OC or a QB position coach??

I seem to remember Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence throwing a LOT of “50-50” balls to quality WRs, and with good success. I question your analysis and your wisdom.

Re: Hey Clem gal

Jan 2, 2022, 3:54 PM

Sorry, but the fact that you think he’s talking about 50/50 balls shows you have no idea what he’s talking about.

And asking where someone played or coached is not a valid response in a discussion.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Did you watch the 2018 National Championship game?

Jan 2, 2022, 4:47 PM

Do you know what “50/50” ball means?

Clemson had great wide receivers who could go up and get the ball, and QBs who could put the ball where they could get it. Evidently the Jags don’t have that, I KNOW that TL16 can get it to them.

Re: Did you watch the 2018 National Championship game?

Jan 2, 2022, 5:16 PM

Yes and that’s still not what she’s talking about.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It demonstrates that Clemson QBs are not limited to RPOs

Jan 2, 2022, 10:02 PM

only WHEN they have the capability of throwing with touch and accuracy. What more do you require from a QB??? We need a mobile QB to run when the defense backs off - Trevor and Deshaun were outstanding in that respect. Again, what more do you want??? Our QB's talent level and the strength of the OL dictate how one-dimensional our offense is.

If you and Clem gal know more than Dabo and his staff, then why don't you call him and straighten him out!!! I'm sure he'll be glad to have your expert help since they evidently can't see the obvious like you and the expert Clem gal.

I don't have many opinions on Lawrence, just that he's been empirically the worst QB in the NFL this year.

tigerfan22334 needs to be our next qb coach. Or maybe we can go with a 3 offensive coordinator setup.

Not looking it up again, but I think Manning threw something like 28 his rookie year.

Yup, but he also threw about that many tds. TL has 9.

Two picks, one on him another off the receiver’s hands. Renfro was doing good earler. Unfortunately, I only get snipets from red zone.

Kind of an odd record. Does the mean a lot for that team? Most of their QB's didn't play as rookies there. Mark Brunell was drafted by the Packers. Kind of a meaningless record.

Re: Another franchise record for Trevor Lawrence

I love TL and I think he will be a Hall of Fame QB. He is the real deal, but that record for that particular franchise is kind of meaningless. Then again, it's start, because when he leaves he will have every record that organization has as far as QB's.

Re: Another franchise record for Trevor Lawrence

One reason college QBs struggle early is the season s longer. I think he playing in his 16 game, plus preseason. No cupcakes on the schedule now. College you can only practice 20 hr s a week. NFL is 24/7. It's a grind and everyone is good.

He ll be fine. Takes 3 years for a QB in the NFL.

Jags need James 47 to shored up their lame defense to help Lawrence’s second season
