How is Clemson a 4.5 point favorite

It rose from 3. So the money has been going on Clemson right?

Yes. Clemson's defense could slow down or shutdown Wake's offense.
My concerns are: How mobile will DJ be? Can we limit turnovers against a WAKE team that causes lots of turnovers? Who will fill in for Ross and Ngata? Can we find a "3rd and Renfrow" sure handed WR? Perhaps Will Brown or Will Swinney or Briningstool?
Vegas knows something.
I think Clemson will be highly motivated to win at home on Senior Day. That could be a big factor. Hoping coaches coach 'em up!

I think CDS said Ngata might be a go this weekend.

"3rd and Renfrow?" Two issues here. First play calling. Most 3rd down play calls have been runs up the middle with no real attempt at a first down. 2nd we actually need a qb that can hit a wide open receiver or tight windows on a consistent basis.

Because Vegas says they are a 4.5 point favorite, that's why .And they should know! And since I am a course gambling man, and I have checked with all my sources ,I am betting my ocean front property on the Mississippi that the winning score will be .5

I suspect the history of our series is part of

the reason.
We've beaten Wake the past 12 years; in the past 40 years we've won 34 games versus Wake's six; in the overall series we've won 68 versus their 17 with one tie.
I also think they're looking at our home field advantage, if filled, a stadium with 80,000 something rabid fans, mostly in orange, at home for the last time this year versus Wake's 30,000 seat stadium with great people who also are part of the wine and cheese crowds. And for sure they realize BV's Big Nasties are gonna put on a slamma jamma show Wake hasn't experiemced. God help Wake's great, young Quarterback!
Don't get me wrong: I like Wake; they've generally been good friends with Clemson over the years; they're having one of their rare top-notch seasons. Good for them! I just don't want them to have only one loss after Saturday!

Because Wake has junk talent and everyone knows it. They are thinking Clemson it more talented.

Vegas thinks the O vs D matchup favors Clemson and home field is worth 3. Our defense should be able to keep them in the 20s. We should be more motivated, we have to win, they don’t. The problem is can our offense get into the 30’s?

44 came with a lot of guys being held out. The 44 came against the D most comparable to WF’s. We have given up over 20 2 times this year - in regulation on the road to a very mobile QB and by giving up a pick 6 at Pitt when our D wasn’t on the field. If DJ wasn’t limping around, I’d like us by 10+. If he is still unable to plant/can’t run the qb runs and TP can’t throw, then this one will look like all the others- down to the wire - can’t afford to give them points. We should be fine.

Just my .02 cents but...

Wake hasn't played a road game against a team that is nearly as good defensively as Clemson.

Their win vs Virginia is looking better... but you are correct. Only four road games thus far, Army and UVA are the best. Beat Cuse in overtime (darn it) and then the other was UNC.

Becasue we have a win win mentality. It's been a tougher year than normal but the essence of who Clemson is still exists. I believe one thing, It Will All Be Left On The Field.

If they can lose at Chapel Hill then they probably lose at Clemson. We're not as bad as we seem and they aren't as good.
