How about that crowd crush Superdome entrance!

Jan 15, 2020, 12:47 PM

Did anybody else get trapped in that? It took close to an hour to get through. Shoulder to shoulder like sardines, no cell service, sweating. It was rough.

An extremely attractive LSU student showed me her “Dabo whine bottle” while waiting. Had a picture of Dabo on a mini baby bottle. That was the only highlight I guess.

Took us about an hour to get in. To pass the time....

Jan 15, 2020, 12:58 PM

me and a couple guys from LSU told jokes about BAMA not being there and talked good memories of season's gone by. For the most part, I only met good football people from LSU and most of them were gracious at the end of the game.

Now, LSU fans on Bourbon street....that is a whole nother story!!!

How do you keep Gamecocks out of your yard?

What does a Gamecock grad call a Clemson Tiger grad in 2 years?

I know there are good ones, BUT......

Jan 15, 2020, 2:07 PM

I question the character of any fan who participates in the NECK chant and what sounded like 100%.......probably more like 85% of their fans participated in the chant before, during, and after the game.

I accepted the "bourbon street" NECK chant, but didn't know it was "a thing" that seemingly EVERYBODY did in the stadium.

I know there's good and bad in ALL FAN BASES, but it was a little tougher finding the good LSU fans in NOLA.

Not sure when or where you guys entered

Jan 15, 2020, 1:02 PM

But it was a breeze. We waited maybe 5-6 minutes at the secret service checkpoint/metal detector. After getting through the gates had 0 people entering the stadium. Literally 1 person every minute coming through. We also saw a security check point that had no one in line. We entered on the side by the Pelicans arena. Went in probably about 5:00

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Went in next to Garage #1 entrance ramp...

Jan 15, 2020, 1:04 PM

and the line was already two thirds down the ramp. We finally got through security with around 30 minutes to spare before kickoff.

I was in the hour camp. And then we funneled in to

Jan 15, 2020, 2:12 PM [ in reply to Not sure when or where you guys entered ]

The metal detectors. There was no line so you had to be a little aggressive or you wouldn’t move forward. Wish I would have found your line. Took us an hr got in about 45 minutes before.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I didn't think it was a big deal. MUCH better than some of

the ACCCGs in CLT.

2024 white level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

went in at garage 6 entrance and was a breeze.......

Jan 15, 2020, 1:42 PM

so much so that I had to ask a security guard if "normal" people were allowed in this particular gate entrance b/c nobody was going in (looked like a VIP entrance)..........and he said "of course, I'm not sure why everybody's going in the ramp entrance, welcome to the superdome"

We went in at Gate H (Garage #6 side) and it only took us about 10 - 15 minutes (around 5PM).

Same 10 - 15 minutes for us at Gate G. No problems there.

It was so packed around the ramp that we didn’t realize you could walk around to the gates on the other side...we basically got trapped and it took about an hour.

Had a corn dog around us trying to start something with everybody. Luckily he didn’t get any takers.

We got stuck in it. Took an hour. Got stuck by some super D-bag LSU fans that tried to initially plow past everyone saying they had a medical emergency. They ended up beside us (or close by) for most of the hour and there was clearly nothing wrong. That was the first of many bad encounters with their fans. With winning, they progressively got worse. It really made me appreciate our fan base so much more.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The Superdome has 8 gates. All you had to do was walk around

Jan 15, 2020, 2:42 PM

it to find one that wasn't crowded. Too me less than 5 minutes at Gate G around 4:30 Central time.

It was a fun experience rubbing elbows with Clemson fans in the security lines. Your fans were great and everyone from both sides looked to be having a lot of fun. Only negative I saw from a Clemson fan was one heading his full 16 ounce aluminum bottle beer off the upper deck. Hopefully it emptied out before it hit someone. That was a #### move. Other than that, you guys remind me of Auburn fans. Smaller school. Great fans. Great programs. Great traditions. If we make it back next year, I do not want to be on TLaw’s hit list. That kid is going to have a hell of a season next year.

I sure had the opposite experience with your fans. I hope to never see y’all again.

Seems like you were the common denominator that brought out the bad in everybody.

I never said one word to these people. Unassuming 50 year old with my wife and another couple. Doing nothing except walking down the street. It really baffled us...

It wasn't just you, those people were the worst, never seen anything like it, hope I never do again.

A c&p from tigerdroppings;

“It was incredibly embarrassing seeing grown adults scream STTDB at random Clemson fans on the street Monday night.

And people get offended when our fans have such a terrible reputation.”

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Completely blind to LSU's toxic culture ^^^***

There's something in these hills.

Re: How about that crowd crush Superdome entrance!

Jan 15, 2020, 2:59 PM

I was in the crowd as well, took almost an hour and 45 minutes to get inside. Completely ridiculous. There was a lady that passed out behind us because she couldn't get any fresh air.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

yep. There was a short older woman near me

Jan 15, 2020, 3:35 PM

who was starting to panic because she was felling closed in but there was no way for her to get out.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It was horrible, and there was no one telling people that

Jan 16, 2020, 5:05 PM

other entrances were available.

After waiting at that main entrance on the South side for about 40 min, we went around to the left and it was shorter but still took another 15 or so.

A bottleneck of people around the stadium is just as dangerous a situation as getting something in the stadium. We're all sitting ducks if some nut wants to do something.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yep. Definitely not safe. And if someone starts panicking

Jan 16, 2020, 5:09 PM

It could start a crowd crush scenario that could be very dangerous like in the Hillsboro disaster in England in the 80s at a soccer game

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The problem was Gate C - closest to Poydras

Jan 16, 2020, 6:02 PM

so all the people walking from the hotels hit that gate first.
