House fire

Jul 7, 2019, 12:41 PM

My oldest brother who graduated Clemson in 1989, had flee his house with his wife and two of his children. It was a big house and if was ruined in ten minutes. Well yesterday was the first day he could walk into the basement and the only thing he found that was not completely destroyed was this....

I searched threw his house today and found a bunch of pictures from his Kappa Sig years at Clemson. Also I found two more tiger rags. One with the white paw and the other On is the purple paw. Nothing wrong with them at all.

Wow. This hits home here. Lost my house and everything I had in about 20 minutes on 2/15/14. It will put things in prospective as well as help you reevaluate your priorities as far as what’s important. My family and I had four different residences in 2014. Yes, there will be some things that you can’t replace. What kept me going, though, was that I only had to deal w/insurance adjusters. By the grace of God, no undertakers were needed. Lean on God and each other during this most difficult time. It's not an easy road ahead by any means, but you still have the most precious things you could ever want and need.....life and each other. Praying a speedy process to get your lives back in order...MT

My house on Thomas street in Charleston burned down when I was 26. I left with nothing, not even a wallet. I feel for your friend. Awful.

As someone who lost everything five years ago, I can say that this is the most important part of getting through the situation. I can tell they are already a strong family, and with the help of God, will become even stronger.

Man, too much crazy stuff going on these days. First, happy everyone is safe. That stuff can be replaced, as the saying goes.
Second, thanks for posting. In a way to me, it’s a symbol of hope. It’s just a paw that represents a team, but it’s also a family.

I heard about that. I'm so glad he got his family out! That is one awesome family! Just some genuinely good people. Did they figure out what caused it?

Prayers up for the family. Experienced this in 1977 when

Jul 8, 2019, 1:45 PM

my parents house burned to the ground, the house I grew up in. Thankfully no one was hurt then either. At least not physically. Unless you have personally gone through it, you cannot imagine the sense of loss. Not ashamed to admit crying like a baby when I drove up in the yard and the tallest remaining thing of what was once a two story house was a set of 3 foot tall concrete steps.

For those who know these people, donate good clothes that you have if you can. It is one of the first basic things needed. A coworker I had at the time literally gave me a duffel bag of good clothes. I never forgot the kindness.
