The last time we went, we stayed just north of the Ga/Fl state line - off I-75. The drive to Tallahassee was then less than 2 hrs.

It was a 7 PM game, so we headed in and tailgated some - then hit Mellow Mushroom. Walked around the area - great experience and college football atmosphere; the FSU fans are pretty much like us when it comes to their Seminoles.

Definitely will do that trip again!

The Best Western Rose City Conference Center in Thomasville, GA is where we have always stayed. Good, clean hotel around $100 a night and it's about 45 minutes away from FSU. Also, there's a Whataburger in the parking lot.

Have you looked in South Bend or Clemson? It's the same thing. I think the Hilton properties don't even have their rooms available yet for Clemson/Anderson. Either that or they are all sold out already, which I find hard to believe. I used to be able to use points for the Holiday Inn in Clemson and the Best Western. Best Western now has a 2 night minimum, and has almost tripled the point value for the Clemson hotel(old Ramada). It is really ridiculous! And the Holiday Inn in Clemson you can forget trying to use the IHG points any more. It is really beyond ridiculous.

Stay somewhere else within driving distance.

Tallahassee is a terrible city anyway.

Yes South Bend was ridiculous prices too. I booked a room in Plymouth Indiana for the Notre Dame game, it's about 25 miles away.
