5 weeks ago Braves were 10.5 games back from the Mets. They are now 1.5 games back going into a 3 game series with the 1st place Mets.

it’s been so so much fun watching that young man setting records and absolutely destroying big league hitters. I mean he faces Albert Pujols who’s been in the league longer than he’s been in this world. Just unreal what he’s been doing.

Hard to believe that's his first career walk off hit. Guess a lot is they don't pitch to him maybe.
Anyway, he pretty much single handedly won the game for them. Wtg Braves!

Indeed he did . . .

Riley went 3 for 6 with 3 RBIs . . . the HR in the bottom of 8th to tie it up was as pure a stroke as a hitter can make . . . sitting “dead red” all the way . . .
Highlights for those that missed the game: https://stories.mlb.com/live/661520.html

They have 5 Players make the All Star game too, Acuna, Fried, Swanson, d’Arnaud, and Contreras. Kinda feel like Riley and Wright got snubbed. I know everyone can’t make it but there both having great years.

Hard to believe Riley & Wright didn't make it, but must be some tough competition at their positions.

I think it's cuz no one, I mean NO ONE expected the switch to flip for Wright the way it has. Congrats on that young man getting it done though

You got that right, Wright was only penciled in as the #4 starter at the start of the season bc we had no idea who the 5th starter would be. With the emergence of him and Strider, that gives us Fried at #1, Wright #2, Strider #3, Morton #4, and Anderson at #5. Now what are we gonna do when Soroka comes back? ????? Good problems. And Riley was gonna have a hard time beating both Nolan in STL and Manny in SD. Wright can still make it if any of the pitchers who made it already pitch next Sunday tho, think it would be the managers decision on who to pick.

I wondered that and When’s the last time brothers made it on the same team. After the game the Braves sent a check to SD for Robinson Cano lol AA with another low risk high reward move.

Your right it does, It depends on what RP pitchers from losing teams like Pitt and Arizona do too, and i know Cincy is a bad club too but Castillo from them, and I know every team gets a member but come on. I think the MLB wants a Kershaw vs Ohtani matchup tho, even tho Kershaw missed more then a month.
