We needed both, BUT I think if we had better QB play we would be playing for a playoff spot tonight.

Nah, we would not have beaten Pitt.
No QB could make a better pass than the TD pass that Shipley dropped. = -7 points for Clemson.
No QB could stop Pitt late 2nd Qtr when, after stopping Pitt on third and long, after the play Clemson LB flagged for unnecessary roughness. Pitt then went down the field to score TD. = + 7 points for Pitt

Margin of victory for Pitt: 10 points

DJ didn't give Pitt those 14 points (which gave Pitt the 10 point win).

So no undefeated season for Clemson, and no CFP for a 1 loss Clemson.

of having even a top 50 ranked QB this year instead of DJ even leading up to the Pitt Game. Less injury possibly to our defense and a host of millions of other intangibles having a QB that bad all year.

No DJ didn't drop a pass in the Pitt game but played horribly all year leading up to that game too.

Have you forgotten that DJ pitched a Shuttle Pass right into the hands of a Pitt Defender for a Pick Six. A complete lack of awareness and Saavy by DJ.

Great QB play can hide line issues.
Get rid of passes quickly.
Read the defense quickly.
Change the play.
There is always somebody open.
